MENZER Drywall Sander LHS 225, for Almost Dust-Free Grinding, incl. Abrasives Set - 230 V

This is a great sander, light weight, nice to hold, does what it says on the tin, I have cut my prepping times down big time with this sander, & its great for ceilings.I was looking at getting a more expensive sander, but I saw this one, & for £200 quid, well you can't go wrong, & I'm sure it would match up to the more expensive models,Would I recommend this to another decorator, absolutely without hesitation.

For anyone who carries out a moderate amount of decoration work this piece of equipment is an absolute must. Robustly made, easy to handle, and coupled with the extractor, it produces the least amount of dust I have ever known. The equipment comes in a selection of grit sizes. Removing the ‘rough stuff’ of a wall/ ceiling is easily achieved. It is rather therapeutic removing all the pumps out of a wall and applying a coat of sealer etc; it becomes almost obsessional getting the perfect surface once you get going as it is so easy to achieve. Once you buy one you will wonder why you put up with the old orbital that I was forever taking apart to clear out the bearings etc. I so love this machine I am tempted to redecorate the entire house and earn some brownie points off the ‘boss’; it’s a gem. Don’t mess about; get the proper extractor at the same time.

I bought this product as a DIY tool to sand down the plaster on some walls which needed decorating. The sander comes with a good selection of circular sanding sheets. You need a fairly powerful vacuum cleaner with suitable adaptor (not supplied) to extract the vast amount of plaster dust that the sander produces so make sure that all works properly before undertaking your job or else the whole house will become covered in fine plaster dust. The motor is plenty powerful with a selectable speed control which is very handy.The only downside is that after only 2 rooms the plastic disk in the rotor head has failed meaning that the disk has sheared away from the drive itself. This was very frustrating as I was in the middle of a time-critical job. The disk detaches with the use of an allen key so I am assuming that I will be able to obtain a replacement from Mio Tools, but it was very frustrating nonetheless.Overall it is a very good DIY product which will save many hours of hand-sanding.

Excellent product Just as advertised

I looked at quite a few machines before settling on the Menzer and I am really pleased with my choice.The machine arrived on time together with some additional adapters which made it easy to connect to my Nilfisk vacuum cleaner.Plugged it in, selected the appropriate disk from the collection that accompanied the sander and got cracking on sanding down walls and ceiling. Compared with the previous sander I was using I reckon I reduced the preparation time by about 50% and although the machine is heavier than what I was previously using the ease of use made all the difference.I was worried that it might be difficult to use in a relatively small room but the swivel action on the sanding head enabled me to complete the job without any real problemsThere was certainly less mess and when finished with the machine packs up easily into the carrier case that comes with it the sander and also had plenty of room for the additional bits and pieces that I had with the sander.This is my first experience of using a drywall sander of this type and so far so good.

Far too heavy for me to do the ceiling plastering sanding. As a result, uneven surface.

Excellent sander, can't believe I hand sanded for so long when I could have been using The Menzer.I had to get a ceiling really flat as the lighting was going to be shining right across it, this did the perfect job.
