EZ Quilting 882670181A Hexagon Shapes Acrylic Template - White, 6.38 x 5.5 x 0.13

I purchased this acrylic quilting template for myself. I have previous had a couple of different acrylic templates in the past so knew what to expect. Once you get used to the cutting techniques, which were shown on the label of the template I received (if they are not you can look up online how to use the templates if you are unsure). You can use this to cut hexagons that are a finished height of 1" to a finished height of 5" and it goes up by 1/2" increments. It has a 1/4 seam allowance from the cut points. There is a line showing you were to cut and what the finished height is (solid line is cut line, dotted line is finished height). Works best when you use the template to square off fabric and line up the cut line (whichever you choose, as it is clear you can choose any dimension between 1" - 5" to an outside edge and then cut around the remainder of the template. The only thing worth noting with hexagons if youve never done them before is that you have to take precut templates (usually made of paper or thin card, and wrap the fabric around the edges, press and sew across the hexagon to keep the shape before you use it for patchwork. to get clean edges you will have to use this technique or you will have to cut more than needed and fold the edges under itself if you will not be attaching it to another hexagon. It would be nice if there was a way to use the template to make patchwork pieces, but is easy with the paper or card as you can pull it out easily once you've sewn the folded edges across the back of the hexagon. Easy to use, hard and works very well with a rotary cutter. I would highly recommend to someone looking to make patchwork a little easier! I will definitely purchase more of the Simplicity templates in future.

Very happy with these, can be used for different sizes, the only little quibble I have is there should be holes at each corner so you can mark through it for the different sizes, then I would have given it 5 stars

I was under the impression that they were individual Templates ranging from 1" to 5" but I think I have cracked how to use the master template with some success. I use it to measure my box sizes and will be back for other shapes. Many thanks

I struggled to find a hexagon template on the Internet nthe only other one I found which was flimsy unlike your cost a fortune but your was an amazing price and arrived super qUickly too. Could I may be suggest a bit more packaging though? Our letter box is almost four feet from ceramic tiled floor and post man just put it through letterbox. It survived just as the corner which hit punched through mail bag ! Thanks

only given 4 instead of 5 simply because I haven't yet tried it. However, the acrylic seems to be of excellent stability and I do not doubt that I will use it successfully.

I had to go on the internet to find out how to use it. But once I figured it out it’s fantastic and space saving. Great product.

Brilliant idea. This template is a useful one, yes it is only one template but incorporates more. Once you learn how to use it properly, and there are many demos on the Internet to watch, you realise how good it is.
