Great for Soldering and Plastic Welding and Repairs
An affordable alternative for the ability to fine tune the heat/temperatures at the tips of Soldering and Plastic Welding Irons to prevent overheating, melting or charring materials being worked on.

It works good
You need to get used to the adjustment but it works very good

Quality construction
For applications where you need to reduce soldering iron temperature, this product is perfect. Construction and components seem to be good quality. A setting of 5 gets my iron temperature down to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit which is what I need for easing(compressing) felts on piano action parts.

Works well for the price. Can be sensitive to adjust
Good price and well made. It works well but a lot of the adjustment is at the right end of the range. This makes adjustments a bit tricky. Still, I'd buy it again.

The control is a little lacking, but on the whole it'll do
Roughly the first 1/4 to 3rd of the controller's range seems to be inneffective. Another review mentioned most of its effective range being limited to the right side so I can't say I wasn't warned, but I didn't realize just how wide the gap would be. Obviously that's not the seller's fault, but it certainly is a considerable product/manufacturing quality issue. It's a good thing I'm just plugging this in in-line with a rather touchy rotary tool foot pedal to afford myself a more precise level of control, because if I were in a different situation where I was relying on this unit as the sole control, I could see how that diminished effective range could possibly be an issue or an annoyance for some, especially if using it in an application with a form of feedback that's less immediate and obvious than rotary tool speed (such as using it to control soldering iron temperature as intended).I just feel like for ~30 bucks you ought to be able to get a potentiometer/control unit with a fairly complete range.

Muy útil.
Muy útil para regular el calor del cautil. Extremadamente necesario cuando se hacen vitrales.
