GI Metal Turning Pizza Peel with Black Handle (47 Inches)

This peel works with intended. I am making pizza in a wood fired oven. The oven is about 800 degrees Fahrenheit hot and the handle is long enough to avoid burns on my hands. It is a small peel but it has to be to work effectively with small pizzas. Mine are about 30 cm. Note that this is a turning peel, NOT the type of peel that will get the pizza in or out of the oven.One downside is that the peel was drenched in some sort of oil and I would have expected a cleaner product, especially for the price. I cleaned it and it is fine now. I anticipate that this peel will outlast me. I think the product is overpriced given that simplicity of it (one metal pipe, three rivets, one piece of sheet metal) but it does work and it is a good quality.

This is a must-have tool for any backyard pizza oven. Small enough to maneuver the tight space, yet sturdy enough to lift and move pizza, loaves of bread, etc. I was using a regular pizza peel before and had a difficult time - not any more!

If you own a brick oven and do not own this YOU ARE MISSING OUT!I used a 12" square peel as my turning peel for years but now I only use this 10X EASIER TO MANEUVER! ONE OF THE BEST TOOLS I HAVE FOR THE OVEN I FEEL!

For $50 I would have thought it would be of better quality. I have worked a professional pizza oven before, and bought this for an oven I have at home. People who purchase this need to understand the purpose of this tool is to facilitate TURNING a pizza or other products - not to actually remove it from the oven... so recognize that the surface is quite small for that purpose. For that, it works well. The metal head seems more like galvanized steel and is a little flimsy, and I don't quite understand the purpose of the sliding black grip. I chose to fix it into a location that I preferred and that works well for me. Again, for $50 I would have hoped for something of better quality, but I'll make it work.

Tried 4 different ones and this is the only one to get.

Don't buy this one for several reasons. 1) The item doesn't look like the picture. There isn't a black turning handle in the middle of the long metal handle. 2) the flat peel portion is cut from basic galvanized metal (not stainless steel) and riveted to a galvanized pipe or electrical conduit that you'd find at home depot. I'm sure it was made in a commercial shop but it looks completely homemade. There is a very cheap hard plastic handle at the end. I was actually shocked when I pulled it out of the box but clearly you get what you pay for. Now I'm reluctant to re-order a more expensive one from this company because I may not get what I order.

Extremely useful to turn the pizza around as it heats. I use it as a multipurpose tool - laying the pizzas, turning them, to add more wood to the oven, to clean the oven floor with wet rag, etc. I highly recommend this.

I have my own pizza shop and home oven. The sliding handle is questionable; and the 8inch peel face could be better quality; also mine had blackened turn marks from use on the face and bottom of the peel. So I’m not sure if this was a return from another customer I received.
