Great clock for making timekeeping fun and educational for the whole family
This is a fun and educational tool for the whole family to enjoy. It’s quite nice for the price, some good quality carving on the wood parts, and the plastic isn’t too bad either. If you are a connoisseur of coo coo clocks and are expecting 100% German craftsmanship, then you will probably be disappointed. The areas that lack are perfectly fine so far as we have had it a week now and it’s daylight sensor and hi/low/off volume settings make it family friendly and fun. The instructions were clear and easy to fallow, it seems to keep time so far so it’s a functional piece of art. Batteries are 2 D size that are recommended to be changed every year. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and I’d order again if I find another place for one.

BEAUTIFUL clock ❤️
I've always wanted a cucu clock. This is beautifully crafted. I'm not sure how I feel about the cucu echo. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

nice clock, but.....
This is a very nice looking clock and it has the ability to turn off the "cuckoos" or it automatically silences itself during the nighttime. The clock is large for the price and doesn't require winding. All in all it is a good value. Unfortunately the "cuckoo" noise is very artificial and annoying. Each hour receives a "cuckoo" and a slightly quieter "cuckoo echo". For example, 10:00 AM has 20 cuckoos. If you are a cuckoo clock purist, this is not the clock for you. If you just want a large, attractive clock with or without the cuckoo noise, this is a great option to consider.

Flimsy construction. Minute hand broke.
The clock looks great but disappointing to see flimsy quality of the actual clock unit. I had issues with the minute hand not moving properly. I tried multiple times to fix the minute hand. Finally the arm came off for good. No idea what to do with the clock without a working minute hand. I am trashing it. I would look for a better product elsewhere.

Cute & shiny, but let down by the awful cuckoo recording
Both my wife and I were separately brought up with families who owned traditional cuckoo clocks. So after weeks of research, I chose this one as a Christmas present since I couldn't afford the 'real' ones and some of the less-expensive Black Forest types had a range of reviews. This clock is fairly lightweight and bigger than I expected. It's also very shiny, with very cheap hands and dial. The product description says it's 'handcrafted' but honestly I can't think of a single part that could fit that description. I'm not even sure it's wood, with the front at least looking more like a plastic imitation, although the simple, thin back panel that you remove to get at the battery compartment is wood-like (actually kind of a thin particle-board type of material). All of these things could be overlooked if it weren't for two issues, one worse than the other. I'll start with the least annoying, and that's the chains with 'cones' or 'weights' on the end. These 'weights' are really just for show, weighing very little, and while they're nothing special, they match the overall aesthetic. The problem with them though is that the chains aren't adjustable. Again, not a deal breaker, but you're going to have to keep them set at the lengths provided in the factory. However, the biggest headache with this clock is the awful cuckoo recording. Note, this isn't about the timing being off, although it was out of sync when we got it. The cuckoo was sounding for 2 o'clock when it was actually 5, but that was soon fixed by just moving the hands to the number corresponding to the number of cuckoos we originally heard. After that, it was fine. BUT that sound... who in their right minds decided that what a cuckoo clock needed was a babbling brook and the echo of the cuckoo after ever 'chirp'? I've heard cuckoos in the wild. I can't think of a single time I've heard them with streams making as much noise as the birds themselves, and certainly can't think of a time when I've heard a cuckoo's call echo through the trees. This just sounds ridiculous and makes the clock seem even cheaper than it is. Also, possibly worse - the echo is almost as loud as the original cuckoo, meaning that at 12 o'clock you're going to get the sound of a stream followed by 24 cuckoo calls. On top of this, the light sensor isn't sensitive at all, so if there's enough light in your room to be able to read the clock, there's enough light to trigger the cuckoo on the hour. Oh and while there's a setting for a lower volume, it's very nearly identical to the full volume sound, making the 'low volume' setting almost useless. While it's not a horrible clock, a nicer dial, adjustable chains and a cuckoo that was a simple cuckoo sound with no echo and no other effects would have meant an improved rating. A less-plastic look and less fake shine would have been even nicer, but honestly it's the unnecessary stream and echo that's really driving us crazy here.

Beautiful & great size!
The media could not be loaded. Bought this for my boyfriend who like these clocks and we are totally satisfied with this! No issues at all with anything and works just as it states it should. Takes two double D batteries which is fine with me but just so you are aware. If you're thinking about it and you like the photos then buy this! You will love it in person :-)
