Advanced Fountain Pen Jinhao 5000 Dragon Year Golden with Black

Beautiful, impeccable finish. Like all Jinhaos this pen is an incredible value for the money with the looks of an expensive luxury pen. I don' t think it is suited to use in the corporate meeting though, because the manager will think you get payed too much when you're having money to burn on such an expensive luxury pen. Little does (s)he know ! ;-)However as far as writing goes, this one did not write as well as the other Jinhaos I own. It wrote nicely wet for only a few words, becoming dryer and dryer. Waiting a few seconds got it starting again for the next few words and so on. It also had a scratchy feel to it. Rinsing with tap water and changing to another ink did not help at all. I then pulled out the nib and feed and gave them a good wash with dishwasher detergent. Now it's a difference of night and day. Now it does write smoothly and wet and keeps going like it should!I still rate it 5 stars though, because I am very happy with how the pen writes and I should have thought about the good practice of cleaning a pen before first use (without pulling out the nib and feed).

This fountain pen is much better than I thought it was going to be for the price! it definately has a wow factor. It's barrel is a good quality black plastic with an engraved dragon filigree metal overlay on the barrel and cap that has the colour of gold plate. After reading other reviews, I rinsed the nib and the cartridge converter that came with it and filled it with quink ink, it writes beautifully. I would say the nib writes thicker than my platinum desk pen but thinner than my medium Lamy Safari. I have an expensive Sheaffer fountain pen that I love but I can see this being my go to pen for every day writing! The cap can be posted on the end of the pen but i prefer to write without it attached. Lovely pen, highly recommend it. The converter that came with it has just broken though and now won't suck up ink? perhaps it can be filled by syringe but replacements are reasonably priced.

Really high quality craftsmanship. Feels heavy in the hand especially when used posted. Initially used with Diamine ink in convertor, and was disappointed with the writing quality, even after a few days of use. Decided to give the nib a good clean, and used an interdental toothbrush on it with detergent and lots of elbow grease. After that, no problem. Lovely smooth writer, with good ink flow, neither too wet or too dry. Some bleeding on poor quality paper, but who can be surprised. Novelty pen, but much admired in fact.

Bought as a mother's day gift. Beautiful looking pen, looks much more expensive than it is. Feels very high quality.Having spoken to my mum, it writes nicely and is easy to use. Slightly heavier than your average fountain pen, but pleasantly so. Definitely recommend, it's a beautiful pen!

This pen is, without a doubt, the most stunning pen I have ever seen. It looks a LOT more expensive than it actually is due to the contrast between the black and gold.It comes with a complementary ink refiller too.The only problem is that those are the only real positive points about this pen; it does not write that smoothly, and it seems to be prone to some blotchiness on paper.Great for looks, and it's ok generally I guess, but I was expecting a lot more in all honesty.

I love this pen. I asked like-minded people on a Facebook planner addict page which they recommended and some came up with the Jinhao. So I looked and saw this beauty.It's heavy, but that's ok for me, as I have big hands and can handle it...it writes beautifully and I'm happy that it's got the option of both cartridge and ink well refil.The design is intricate, yet bold, beautiful yet dramatic.I have another Jinhao on it's way now that will travel with me as I journal.

Looks and feels lovely. Writes very smoothly and is a joy to use.I bought this for my wife as part of her birthday present and she absolutely loves it.Thoroughly recommended.

Love this pen. It is beautiful and writes well. It can use standard cartridges, but the supplied adaptor which allows you to use bottled ink does allow a better ink flow and feels more satisfying to use. I lost my original one, and so ordered a replacement.

I've always used a fountain pen for personal corispondance and hav in the past purchased pens much more expensive that didn't write any better or look as good as these pens. The only criticism is a minor one in that it's not available with a fine point nib. Because I use these at at work I've ordered several over the past four or five years not because the pen has failed but rather I've left them in the retail store I work for and they have been appropriated by my team mates, store customers or just lost amoung merchandise in the store.

I really do love this pen. I have the black with a gold dragon. It is beautiful, elegant and it has a nice solid weight to it (I prefer a heavier pen when writing). I also like the fact it comes with a refillable ink converter for bottled ink as bottled ink comes in many more colours than refills. Presently I have it filled with red ink because who would want to write using a boring colour when using such a special pen. So far (I haven’t had it that long), it writes smoothly, even when writing quickly, and the ink flows evenly. I am very happy with this purchase and would happily purchase it again.

Zügige Lieferung, war nach vier Tagen da. Ich habe die Variante schwarz-gold gewählt. Sieht edel aus. Schreibt sich auch sehr gut und leicht. Im Verhältnis zu meinen Pelikan-Kolbenfüllern in M ist die Federstärke eher F. Tinte fließt gleichmäßig, Feder kratzt nicht, Füller ist nicht zu schwer, sieht gut aus, was will man mehr.

la penna e un ottimo prodotto arrivata un giorno prima del previsto ,legermente pesantina ma non per essere un difetto anzi per un maggiorcontrollo di scrittura la calligrafia e buona e scorrevole,avrei pensato di tenerla come sopramobile ma poi non ho saputo resisterea cominciare a scivere, io la consiglio per gli amanti della bella scrittura e per chi vuole avvicinarsi a quste stilografiche
