Claber Metal Gemini Hose Cart

My first one arrived and the packaging looked a bit like it had been in the wars. There were some key components missing from the box and I was unable to assemble it. I contacted Amazon Customer Support and received 1st Class Service from them. A replacement was dispatched immediately and arrived in under 2 days.Now to the product itself. It is well made and sturdy. It has a good protective coating and I found it fairly easy and quick to assemble - just look at the pictures on the side of the box and the main picture itself on the front of the box and you really won't go wrong.This has a winding handle you can place on either side to suit your own personal taste and it is actually high enough that you do not have to kneel down in order to wind it! It is also easy to change over the winding side at any time if you change your mind.I previously had a Hozelock cart and the metal handles/feet rusted away over time. The metal handles on this one do seem to be quite a bit thicker so I am hoping it will last. I do keep mine outside all year round so for me, I coated it in a light film of Waxoil and Silicone spray but that's probably not needed if you tend to take yours inside after use.Check the size and length of the hose you intend to use on it though. Although my hose is 1/2 inch internal diameter - it is a fairly thick hose - more of a "professional" type. Don't expect to get 130 metres of 1/2 inch hose on the reel (as it says on the box) if you are using a thicker hose. Realistically I think I would get about 100 metres on it of the thicker hose types.

Substantial enough to take a full reel of hose. Easy to use - wife please with how easy it is to use.

I would have given 5 stars if there was an instruction leaflet inside the carton rather than being printed on the side of the box. When the package arrived, it had my delivery address label stuck right across the instructions on the packaging making it almost impossible to read. I had to put it together using the picture of the reel only. I got there in the end up but putting instructions on the packaging instead of a leaflet inside is just plain cheap and stupid by the manufacturer. Other than that, it's a very good sturdy piece of kit and I would happily recommend.

Easy to assemble, I had my 2.5 year old daughter helping me and we whizzed through it in about half an hour. Lovely quality, the coated metal seems to be very durable.My one gripe is that it didn't come with the 5 foot length of hose to attach it to a tap. I will have to cut a length from my new hose, which is less than ideal, I need all the length I can get! Also it was supplied with two female hose connectors, both of which are 3/4 inch hose size, so are completely useless to me. A bit more accurate information from Amazon on what's in the box would have made for a better experience, but I can't fault the 5 star product.

The corrosion proofing appears well thought through and since this was the problem with my older reel I'm hoping this one will last much longer. Good price for a sturdy, attractive piece of equipment. Not that difficult to assemble, but like some other reviewers commented, the assembly detail on the side of the box is a little obscure in a few instances. All in all, well pleased with the purchase.

Perfect metal hose reel for my needs. Using it with a hozelock ultimate hose with the included female connectors and could not be happier.The box has printed instructions which although not the most easiest to follow, aren't too bad. Most of the pieces have obvious uses so once the wheels and frame are made up, the rest just falls into place.Spend a little more for this quality item, you will be pleased.Edit: the included connectors aren't as good as I hoped as one let the pipe lose overnight so I replaced that with a AquaStop Connector Pro. Probably a fault with the old hose I had.

Take care not to over tighten the handle or water connection, the plastic breaks easily

Easy to put together (with a little thought). Its Picture, and finger, construction; and the instructions are printed on the outside of carton for setting up; It arrived factory sealed, so no parts missing. and no parts left over after set up?.- I'm a little aged, so a good test to keep the old grey cells active. The result !!! A good - strong - Well Thought Out Design. - It now has gravel path protection on the bottom of the foot stand, ( not seen in some photo's) so a good added improvement. So hopefully years of use for watering the garden. You get what you pay for = Quality. All I have to do now is - - get the hose!
