At last, a watch with a strong METAL case and leather strap
Although Casio watches always perform well, the plastic cases can be quite brittle where the strap fits and crack, thus writing off the watch. Also the resin straps usually break within two years - and official Casio replacements can cost almost the same as the watch. This watch overcomes all of these issues. It has a metal case for durability and should last for years. The strap is leather and, after it wears in a few years, then it can be easily and economically replaced. The watch is reliable, waterproof to 50 meters, is life-proof and looks smart. It ticks every box and I would happily buy it again - although I probably will never need to because it's almost unbreakable.Definitely recommended for its quality, style, reliability and durability. Excellent.

The Steve of Watches
We all know that one person who, when you're asked to describe them, you stand up on your chair/ table/ collection of antique porcelain doll heads and tell the room "Oh Steve? Let me tell you about Steve! The thing about Steve is he's just so... errrr... nice?" Now let me stress there's nothing wrong with Steve, he is the pinnacle of a just fine human being, but once Steve is out the room no one turns to look for him. He is unoffensive, unsurprising and can only just keep up your interest during a long conversation about how TV is the new film or whatever. This is the Steve of watches. I bought it for £19 and after owning it for a year I've made up my mind and decided that it is definitely a watch. Functional but forgettable. I am a student and as a student I have the struggle of typing 'affordable watches' into Google and the Internets responds with a load of "oh mate if you're really stretched for cash try this £400 pro-chrono-dive-stop-aviator-7-dial-swiss-master-watch." Which.... nahhh. All I need is an accurate second, minute and hour hand and the date. This watch has those features... and those features only. The accuracy is fine for my needs and the face is plain, simple and easy enough to read that I never need to check more than 7 times to make sure I got the time spot on. Oh and the 5 bar water resistance from my experience means you can shower in it and it still functions after (not brave enough to swim in it though and as for whether it functions in zero G I'm also unsure). Over the 13 months I've owned this watch for about 13 months and only a few minor scratches have managed to collect on the mineral glass. My main complaints for the watch are the lume and the strap. It's been late at night and I've gone to check my wrist only to have to go through the procedure of shining my phone light onto the watch face and waiting for my eyes to find the weakly emitted light on the handles, which quickly fades. And I'm aware that my phone has a clock on it but I'm a man of principles/ crippling stubbornness. The strap I had to replace with a sexy, sleek cheap as chips black nato strap due to the original leather strap both completely falling apart after about 6 months of wear and tear and also looking like balls. With a nato strap the watch looks fine on my 64mm (2.52 inch) width and 177mm (6.97 inch) circumference wrist (flattering pics included NSFW probably). The springs are also fine, one of them is slightly bent now but still works.Plain and functional. A reasonably legible wristwatch that, for the price, does everything you need a watch to do. No more and no less. In the past year of wearing it daily no one has noticed or asked me about the watch (bar asking about why the strap looks like it's being held together by willpower alone). It is fine. Suitable for those blokes who tune out every time their mate tells them that a quartz watch ain't got nothing on an automatic and that anything below a Rolex is blah blah blah shut up Jim no one cares. I needed a watch. This is a watch.

Nice watch....but.
A very nice watch, especially at the price. One thing lets it down is that in certain light the hands effectively disappear. Perhaps instead of the white centre to the hands it could have been changed to black. That way there would have been real contrast which would enable you to read the time easier in all light conditions.
