That's how I used it. It also ran from a PP9 9v battery for a few moments but flattened the battery quite quickly!

Q: does the screen have an on/off switch?

No it doesn’t but with no video signal it goes to sleep. A switch could easily be fitted in the power lead.

Q: could 2 of these be used for use with a motorhome where it is permanently on?

I don't know what the question is really asking - If you are wanting to know if it is capable of displaying images continuously I can confirm that I have used it as a CCTV monitor for continuous periods of 12 hours or more without problem and if you are asking whether two displays can be used to display the same image simultaneously then I would say yes depending on the output strength of the source.
