Vitrex 338160 Tiling Knee Pads
Other purchasers have been pleased by these knee pads - I am no exception.Previous Experience - I tried various other types in the past and they have generally been unsuitable. They were too heavy, not cushioned enough or too uncomfortable. A particular problem has been discomfort from the strap or straps, which have to be done up tightly or else the pads slip about, and become badly displaced. The new Vitrex Pads - These new Vitrex Pads are far better. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear. To try them out, I put them on and left them on all morning, as I walked about the house. They did not descend to my ankles (!) but stayed in place. They are comfortable to kneel on. The straps did not bite into the back of my knees.Adjustability - The straps deserve special mention. They end at a buckle and are easily adjustable in length. Not only that, but they need not be loosened to take the pads off. The plastic termination includes a hole which simply hooks over a stud. So it is possible to put the pads on or take them off quickly, without changing the length, adjustment or tension in the strap. This is absolutely great; once comfortable, the straps stay comfortable every time they are put on. The opening in the termination is large, making it easy to place over the stud, but there is also a narrow opening, This clicks onto the stud, preventing the possibility of unwanted popping-off during use. The end of the strap remote from the buckle, widens ahead of its attachment to the pad. This is a good feature, spreading the load over a line of attachment. Instinctively, you know that this is a robust design.Belt Loops - Another nice feature is the small belt loop on the top edge of each pad (these are visible on the photo). A tape or cord may be attached here, and fixed over a belt worn around the waist (these items are not supplied). This is to positively prevent the pads from slipping down the leg to the ankles. As you will have seen from my previous remarks, it is not likely that I shall need to use these loops, but it is nice to know that they are there. They may be valued by some users, for protracted, heavy duty use.Durability - I have no long term experience as yet. Although the pads are light in weight, the coarse cloth over the knees looks capable of taking a great deal of punishment, so I do not expect to have to buy another pair soon. The padding seems firm; it has no lightweight, compressible weak foam sensation at all.I bought the pads for my own use and have no commercial interest in the maker or supplier. I have no hesitation in recommending them and hope these comments will be of use to anyone interested in purchasing them.

Best on the market for price
Purchased these over a year ago now and have done numerous jobs including laying laminate flooring fitting a kitchen and bathroom painting skirting boards and many other jobs. These are still going strong no rips or breaks and still provide comfort. Maybe not as cushioned as when new but still very good. I'm about to lay laminate flooring in 4 more rooms this time in my parents bungalow and will be using these again. If you want a good pair of knee pads for general diy these are great.

Really good value for 'occasional' use
These are very comfortable, I have had knee pads before with a rubber strap that cut into the back of my knees so I was a bit sceptical of these. I am very pleased to say they are very comfortable and the fixing strap is very easy to use. They are also comfortable to kneel on but the black waterproof bit at the front could be a bit wider as my knees sometimes get a bit wet if they are not on dead straight. They are much cheaper than other makes and this is reflected in the overall quality, they are fine for occasional use but would not last long if used all day every day.

My knees thank the manufacturer!
Omg, where have these been all of my life?!I used to use a kneeling mat for kneeling down to work under the floor boards, or when climbing into the loft and crawling along the solid and unforgiving boards on all fours, but no more! These knee pads are extremely comfortable and well padded so you don't feel any aches or pains during or afterward. Once you've adjusted the belt to the size you need them to be they remain secure on your knees, fastened with a plastic clasp, and after a while you really do forget you're wearing them. The only time you do remember is if you're doing really labour-intensive work and work up a bit of a sweat, so when you get up your knees may feel slightly damp, but it's not overly uncomfortable or anything, so no big deal. Walking with them on may feel a bit noticeable at first, but they aren't restrictive in any way, and you really do get used to them on. The cost isn't too bad either at just over £8 at the time of this writing, and just remember it's a small price to pay if your knees are still intact and in one piece at the end of the day!Seriously, get them! Your knees will thank you!

Cheap[ish] and effective
I've just bought my second pair, as the first are pretty raggedy after DIY-ing 3 replacement bathrooms and mucho time on my knees in the garden. Yes, the padding does flatten but at 8-10 quid a pop but they're water resistant [good for kneeling in the garden] and I think they're the best knee protection available for the money. The strap attachment is easy and, in my experience, they never slide down to my shins. To make them perfect for muddy gardening, I'd modify them with a flap at the bottom to bridge the gap between the end of these and the start of the wellies.I'll keep on buying them unless/until I come across something with better value and performance.

Adequate For a Short Time
The knee pads were adequate and bearable for a couple of hours but beyond that I found them to be increasingly uncomfortable.

Very comfortable.
I chose these from a long list on Amazon and I'm glad I did. My old pads tended to ride down but the design of these has got around that problem. They are way better than the pads they have replaced which are now in the bin. I can't say how well they will last after a lot of use. But as they are only for occasional use that shouldn't be a problem.
