This is very easy to use and it's already paid for itself by me not having to go to the the barber or hair salon or whatever...

This is an excellent grooming kit. I now have had to replace it again with the exact same model because the battery seems to die after a year or so and will not take a charge. This has happened twice. It is still a good value for the money. But they should design a new model with a better battery. Four stars because of the battery.

We purchased this as a replacement for the Remington hand held shaver. We have had two of those and loved them, but each died after only a year of purchase due to the poor battery life. That's simply inexcusable. The reviews on this were favorable and we'd been wanting to try one with a straight rather than curved edge, so we decided to give it a try. There were some initial drawbacks right from the first shave. Unlike the smooth, even shave of the Remington, this shaved in uneven patches and pulled even the shortest hair. You are forced to shave the same area over and over to even it out and this irritated my skin. As someone who shaves to the skin once a week, this is annoying to say the least. The second thing we noticed is that it's really loud. Much more so than the Remington. Those are two things that, while annoying, we can live with. However, the third issues is a potentially dangerous one. This unit gets hot, really hot. By the time I was finished with my head, no more than five minutes, the metal was so hot that it was painful against my skin. I wondered if it needed an oiling (and it did), but even that wasn't enough to produce substantially better results. I tried again and once more, it pulled my hair, delivered an uneven, patchy shave complete with razor burn and got too hot to use. The one positive I can apply to this unit is that I love the straight edge, rather than the curved one. But that's about it. But if it doesn't shave evenly or closely enough, then it's pretty useless. We're not big fans of this, mostly due to the dangerous heat of the blade and patchy shave. After three attempts and being dissatisfied, it is packed up and ready to be returned.

This clipper is very unique. First it's light weight and with a proper charge can trim you well. The size of the blade is almost twice the size of a detailer clip from Wahl. This larger size makes it a breeze to cover more surface faster allowing for a better blended fade. The price is affordable compared to other clippers and includes all of the accessories needed to open a barber shop in your own bathroom. I especially like the 3.0, 2.5, 2.0, and 1.5 clip guards. They are study when u place them on blade and don't wiggle or soften up from heat caused by friction.Maintenance of unit is easy just remove the detachable blade from front and clean out small hair off teeth and rotation get pin and apply some Wahl oil to keep it lubed. On the blades I like to spray so excited Andis Cool Care to keep blades sharp and lubed also good for killing germs.In the end I have saved hundreds of dollars on haircuts from barbers who would make me wait hours, make jokes behind my back with other barbers about a nick they gave me or my ears. Avoid yourself the stress of amateur barbers who have nothing better than to crack jokes at your expense and become a Pro yourself. Also they would put people in front of you making you wait longer or charge you more than others and complain about how they get $50 tips from baseball players or famous actors. I have even had the unfortunate event of a barber getting weird on me and rubbing his waist line on my arms. Too many bad experiences that I just took charge and started with my first Wahl Clippers but ended with my go to clippers the Mangroomer.I been using the Mangroomer since June 2018 and never looked back. I started out slowly giving myself a 90 minutes grooming now I can cut myself in less than 40min and clean up everything job done in a hour tops. That's customer service, that integrity, that how Mangroomer treats you with respect and empowerment to be a well groomed man.

Worked alright for a while. 5 years later, it's dead. About a year in, I had to start leaving it plugged in for every haircut and holding down the button for 30 seconds so the motor revved up. Says it's safe to rinse out but mine has a rusted connection now and barely moves. I guess it saved me money while it worked, but it just had to die when everything's getting more expensive and now I've gotta buy a new one. Won't be getting this brand again.
