Fixed my P0497 code and fit my 2005 Civic perfectly!
Had a P0497 code, low purge flow. Replaced gas cap with OEM, still there. Checked the purge valve mounted on my engine and it worked. Looked underneath the car where the canister was and the purge valve mounted to the canister was rusted and falling apart. Replaced it with this Dorman canister and Dorman purge valve. No codes! My mounting bolt holding the canister was rusted solid, wouldn't budge. I couldn't heat it with a torch for fear of igniting fuel vapors. So I heated a large bolt red hot that I held in a pair of vise grips and touched the rusted bolt to transfer the heat. Did this twice and the bolt came out no problem. Hope this helps someone.

04 Civic ex 1.7l
Item came in very fast and actually was delivered earlier than the intended delivery date. Item fit my 2004 Honda Civic EX with a 1.7 l engine with no problem and went in perfectly. Check engine like came off and has not came back on it's running great still and material seemed very strong.

Works perfectly
Bought this to replace old unit on 2003 Civic and it was a breeze to install. The hardest part was getting the old rusty bolts loose. After that it was smooth sailing and once installed no more EVAP issues.

Passed emissions
Fixed emissions failure. This came with the screws and o ring. Not sure what o ring it was supposed to replace so I put it over the vapor hose connection. The screws were rusted through on the old part. I had to saw one off that held a hose mount. While I’m not sure my old canister was broke, the only way to attach the new valve was to break it off from this one and I needed a new one anyway. The screws would not have went into this anymore.
