Ergodyne Chill-Its 6665 Evaporative Cooling Vest

I have a big problem.. high temperatures trigger my MS symptoms and when you LOVE gardening.. and all that weeding, digging, hoeing and growing.. and its 88 degrees and 75% humidity.. this can be a serious problem because the symptoms appear with horrifying speed, and it can be a day or two before I recover. However, to avoid this means working late in the day.Gardening late in the evening means 1. You can't really see what you're doing and 2. Skeeters and other nibbling bugs! So, I decided to try this jacket. First time, I soaked it in cold water and wrung it out. I had it on over my underwear and a pair of shorts below. Once I got over the shock of the ice-water sensation (about 3 seconds), the cooling effect was immediate. I worked for three whole hours whith temps in the upper 80's. Unbelieveable! No symptoms whatsoever! I have taken B12 Methylcobalamin 2000 mcg daily, made by Wonderlabs here in the US.. this has actually reversed the nerve and frontal lobe lesions completely according to my last MRI. BUT it does not stop the actual process, which is excarcerbated by high temperatures (even from an infection) and stress. This vest has dealt with the former.. and for you bustier ladies, it's pretty flattering to wear with the elasticated side panels.. at least hubby thinks so! The only thing is that whilst I remained cool as one of my cucumbers, hubby roasted.. and is DEFINITELY going to get one of these! Now I have sorted out the heat problem I just have to find a way to deal with the stress issues!

I bought this to use mostly on motorcycle.Rides in the summer and for working outside. I used it twice and it worked well but on the third time only the center row in the back gels absorbed any water. I filled it as per directions as well.As hanging it to dry as per directions. Very disappointed. Would not recommend buying this product. I now have just a really heavy vest.

I bought 3 of these recently. One for my husband, myself and his friend. We live in North Carolina where the summers are unbearably humid and hot. The guys go golfing and can deal but I simply cannot!My husband and I tested it out on a bike ride for about an hour and it kept us CONSIDERABLY cooler! We did soak our vests in ice water (separately) for about 5 minutes, lightly wrung them out and patted them “dry” with a towel. As other reviewers mentioned water does drip on your pants quite a lot and soaks your shirt (we wore “dri-fits”). With the humidity , we would have had sweated and been much hotter so it’s a fair trade off , especially with the price point.My husband did test hitting a few golf balls as well and said it was not cumbersome and plans to wear it golfing, to mow our grass etc.Lastly, the lime green is definitely neon yellow but when you feel the coldness against your skin, who cares?Definitely Recommend!

It feels heavy when activated but doesn’t feel wet. I’ve used it when I mow my lawn. Feels cool on a hot humid day.

I never used this, it was too big. I ordered medium, it said medium on the tag, but way too big to have contact with me as a cooler. All my other shirts are medium by the way. I see they don’t make a “small”

Dollar for dollar , this is one of the best values I’ve come across in regards for what I got for what I spent. First off , The different colors are priced differently. I was able to immediately shave ten bucks off the price by choosing the cheapest color. It makes no difference at all since it’ll never be seen under my riding gear. I paid just a bit over $20 when the other colors were in upwards of $30. The vest arrived in the middle of brutal heatwave , with temps in the high nineties. I soaked the vest in ice water while I put on my other gear and prepped the bike. Once I put the vest on , the comfort was immediate. I rode about 100 miles in temps that never dipped below 96 and at no point in the ride did I ever feel uncomfortably hot. I was cool and comfortable the whole time. No cutting edge tech here. Just a simple accessory that took one of the biggest negatives out of my summer rides. I’ve seen evaporative cooling vests from name brands for $100 or more. Idk , maybe they have some fancy bells and whistles that make them better than this one but I can’t justify spending more when this vest does exactly what I want it to do. Dry it in the sun when you’re done to prevent bad smell/mold. My hot summer rides are now just as comfortable as my autumn rides , and for only twenty something dollars.

Excellent Product. I'm pretty sure this is the same manufacturer that makes cooling vests for Sedici (motorcycle brand) ORDER DOWN A SIZE! I'm 5'9 L and an XL with "slim fit" shirts. I trusted the reviews and ordered down a size.. the medium fit PERFECTLY.It's incredible what a difference this jacket made for me. For my motorcycle people: YOU NEED THIS! It fit perfectly in my suit and did not restrict movement or make me feel uncomfortable. Jacket lasts about 40 minutes before you need to toss it back into your ice chest (which is PERFECT!) Make sure it's soaked in water or else your body won't be able to transfer heat to the jacket as efficiently.I was hydrating as frequently as I would with a normal trackday and I could barely break a sweat in 90 degree weather. I didn't wear the jacket for one of the sessions...Suddenly I was extremely uncomfortable I had sweat running down my eyes.stop doubting and buy!

I was not impressed. Wetting the vest down with cold water didn't keep me any cooler. I even went to the extreme and placed it in my freezer. Once it was frozen, the coolnest only lasted for about 20 minutes. The vest also adds a few pounds to your burden of having to wear extra weight in the heat. I will be returning it.
