Modern Day SNES Mouse
I thought I give this new SNES mouse a try as I never had one since I had my SNES when I was a kid and still have many of my games from then (and then some). One thing to point our is that the mouse is optical and for the most part has excellent response time for the SNES. The mouse is a bit snug when plugging it into the system but nothing that bothered me, but might for some. I did end up testing quite a few different games to make sure this mouse worked and with the exception of a few games it did that. Here is a list of games I tested:Jurassic Park - Worked great on the first person view. (Must plug into port 2)Tin Star - Very Fun hidden gem mouse shooter. Worked great.Troddlers - Worked great. Very responsive.Arkanoid: Doh it Again - Worked but was jitty at some points. Not sure if it was the game or mouse but got through the first fewlevels without dying.Wolfenstein 3D - Again great response. (Tip: You have to double click on the right mouse button to open doors.)Doom - Did not work. Tried both ports. Tried port 1 with a controller and port 2 with the mouse. Nothing.Caesars Palace - Worked great. Played some hands of blackjack.Advance Dungeons & Dragons: Eye of the Beholder - Did not work. Cursor was stuck at the top of the title screen.Overall it was a pretty fun experience and the mouse worked great. Looking forward to finding more SNES mouse games to try.

Perfect replacement for our 33 year old SNES mouse
This is exactly as described. Our original SNES mouse barely works, which makes playing Mario Paint impossible. This is a perfect replacement and works like a charm. The port is a little snug getting into the console; otherwise, there haven't been any issues!

Almost Perfect!
This was SO close to a 5 star review. Does it work? Yes, beautifully. It's a little bulky, but it really has much smoother and accurate control thanks to it being optical. It works great for mouse games like Tin Star, King Arthur's World, Operation Thunderbolt, and to an extent Mario Paint. It struggles with Arkanoid for some reason; I got a bit of a jitter every now and then which caused unfair ball drains. This mouse has only one speed (fast), no matter what you set the mouse speed settings in games to, the Hyperkin mouse is unaffected by them. I don't see this being a huge issue for the casual SNES mouse user, but this is where the issue with Mario Paint comes in. The Hyperkin mouse is great for the Gnat Attack mini game and music studio, but not being able to control your mouse speed when you're drawing is an issue. It can cause easy mistakes to happen, but if you can just make sure you're moving the mouse slowly, it shouldn't be too much of an issue.Overall, this is a solid product. It's comfortable, it works well for most games except for Arkanoid, and it's well worth it if you're looking for a mouse that doesn't get stuck when making quick movements in those on rail shooters. There are several mouse compatible games other than Mario Paint, and the release of this product helped me find some great games I missed out on like Tin Star and Arkanoid.

Mario Paint is back!
I recently pulled my SNES out of storage to let the kids try Mario Paint. They were immediately into it, but struggled with the old mouse, which didn't track well and had buttons that were hard for them to push. This mouse solves all of those problems. No longer is the game spoiled by the frustration of the old mouse. The color scheme is also a dead ringer for the original. It is more angular, but still fits the SNES aesthetic well. Two quibbles, although I hate to even mention them because this mouse is great. First, it would be nice if it were smaller. The original SNES mouse fit in little hands better than this one does. I often see them using two hands to move it around. It doesn't bother them, but I can tell they would have an easier time with a smaller mouse. Second is that the speed is much higher than the original mouse. At the higher speed, it requires more precision, which little ones struggle with, but they seem to be getting used to it. Mario Paint has a mouse speed setting, which ranges from 1 to 3 stars. I would estimate the 1 star speed now feels like what 3 stars used to feel like. This means if you try to turn the speed up in Mario Paint, it becomes unusable. Personally, I always turned the speed up in Mario Paint anyways, so this saves me the step of doing that. But if you liked it on the slower speed you are out of luck.My pics compare this mouse with the original.

Larger than the original and the optical is only slightly better than the original.
The best part about this new mouse for the SNES is definitely that it is an optical mouse. I have been usimg the original mouse to draw with Mario Paint and I'd say this mouse is slightly better once you get used to it. The mouse is a bit larger than the original and is more contour. Overall I give it a 7 out of 10. If you are happy with the performance of the original this isn't a must buy, but it's great for a replacement because the price is good.
