The enclosure is fairly small so it was easy to replace a completely different make and model.It works exactly as it should and is just as sensitive as the original. A very slight drawback is that the brightness levels are slightly different from the original. I may decide to replace the one in the second of my pair of lamps but at least I have three spares!

They sell 2 types it seems, a dimmer and an on/off. I needed a basic on/off to work with a LED bulb.So first of all I noticed that the units were about 1/4 of the size of the existing unit that had failed in my lamp and the wires were so thin they were whisp like!So I take a new unit out and think wow they have not finished off these wires very well (see picture attached) so i wire it in and it does of course not work.I then take out another unit and realise that the first unit that I had tried has been used before!! Hence the poor state of the wires!The good news was that the 2nd unit I tried worked but just 3 problems:1) it was a 3 stage Dimmer and not and on/off that I ordered.2) it immediately started emmitting that electrical smell that all is not good and your house is likely to burn down.3) I left the light on for 5 minutes and the smell did not go, plus the unit was really really hot.So this is going straight back to Amazon!

Bought these to replace faulty dimmer unit in bedside lamp, works great even with LED lamps (make sure dimmable type) but the twist on connectors are useless so don’t use those. Wires to/from unit very thin so make sure you don’t overload and fuse appropriately.Should only be used by competent electrician (which I am).

Works with 3 levels of dimming but the wiring colours are different in the pictures, description and on the casing. Follow the casing and it should work.

It took me a little while to work out the wiring inside my lamp to ensure compatibility, but since they have been fitted they work just as well as the units they replaced. The worrying thing about these modules is that the wiring is very thin compared to the modules that they replaced, to the extent that I am still not sure that they are to any BS electrical standard (hence 3 stars), but months on they have been fine in every day use.

I have a pair of lamps bought 22 years ago. 1 of them stopped working, bulbs have lasted ll that time, though it had finally gone for good, but I bought these and replaced with the old. Now it is restored, so recommend them . They can even be used to turn any metal lamp into a dimmer

Received Dong Ying Electron.Wiring diagram on Dong Ying unit supplied is not the same as the wiring diagram image or the Hue Rich unit pictured.Wired according to the unit. Unit failed to function. Got nice and hot to the point of smoking. Tried a spare. This also failed to function, and resulted in some more smoke. A 3rd one worked! (got 4 so figured they all needed testing out)Wires are very thin, supplied caps are not wonderful.
