If you have an old iMac you need this
2017 iMac was cooked, slow all the way around. After installing the Mac OS on this device it has transformed the computer. iMac lightening fast now. And to think I was considering a new iMac around $1500. Why did I not do this sooner? Thanks. Saved me a lot of money.

Works with 16 in MacBook pro
I have had a lot of issues trying to find a ssd external drive that will work with my 16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro but all of the drives I had tried ram really got and either dropped off during transfer or would not show up after reboot. I came across this one and did not see any complaints with that regard and the price point was lower that Samsung or sandisk for the same performance (although apple is selling for 200 more 😂). I am pleasantly surprised that 1 it worked without the heat or dropping and 2 the performance is on par with the other 2. That you for saving the rest of my hair.

Awesome Portable SSD hard drive! Very Versatile. Works on Samsung Galaxy Phones.
This is great for portability and versatility. Used on vacation in the philippines 🇵🇠to off load all of our pictures and videos from our gadgets as they became full. Plugs right into our samsung galaxy phones and drag and drop contents from phones internal memory right onto the drive. Create and edit folders on the drive directly from your phone. Also worked ok iPad, samsung galaxy tab, and Microsoft Surface pro.

small, fast data transfer
This is a very small SSD. This could be carried in your pocket, if one wanted to. On my 14 inch MacBook Pro coupled with Apple's Thunderbolt 4 cable, the Data transfer is very fast. This drive would need to be formatted to APFS to enable encryption capabilities. this drive comes formatted with xfat formatting, this just allows this drive to be used both on Windows and MacOS. Nothing to it, very easy to format.

Brought new life to my 2017 iMac!
I bought this after reading recommendations about using an external SSD drive as your aging iMac's primary boot device. We have a 2017 iMac that was just taking forever to open up documents, boot, do anything pretty much. Beachball's galore, everything was taking ages. And with each successive OSX upgrade (now running Ventura) it just got slower and slower. The fault, I learned, was the aging hard drive they put in there....a very, very slow device. So I bought this, followed the instructions to format it as a Mac Ventura OSX boot partition, did the whole migration off of the native hard drive and...wow....our iMac is -SCREAMING FAST- now.Apple may have let me down with the "it just works" promise, but this little investment will easily get us another couple of years out of the family iMac! Well worth the investment!

Fixed my 2017 iMac
Works exactly as I had read in a prior review AND a technical response on a Mac forum. This small SSD is now used as a secure Boot Disk for my older 2017 iMac (which originally has an internal drive that spins at 5400 RPM, which is a choke-point that made the machine work sooooo slow I almost had to toss it). By using the SSD, the boot sequence went from over 10 minutes, to under one minute, and now it opens all programs like it was a new computer. Great device - spending this $150 saved me from having to purchase a new computer for $1000 (or so).
