Really works to dampen sound!
I bought this solely to reduce the sound of my generac 6500 watt generator, and I can tell you that it definitely works with noise significantly reduced. I'm not sure its fully reduced by 50% as advertised, but its much easier to have a conversation with this cover in place (set on its side for a 3-way noise reduction). Now the downside - the hinges are not the best design. They are top quality hinges, but the design is a little flawed and would be better served with full-length piano type hinges to ensure that the sides don't move around needlessly. That's it, that's my only complaint. I'd buy again and and glad to recommend it to anyone looking to reduce generator noise.

Poor setup
The insert says it can be set up in seconds. I guess that's true since there are 3600 seconds in an hour. The predrilled holes are for very tiny screws, but the screws provided are huge. Once assembled, the thing is extremely wobbly. I haven't tried to test it for noise, but if the loudness doesn't knock it over, it looks like it would do well for noise abatement. I wouldn't buy again or recommend.Edit: I talked to the guy at Zombiebox and he is going to send me something to help firm up the setup. I'm raising my rating one star. If it works fine, I'll come back and raise another star.

Do not buy!
Received item bent and unusable. Customer service @ zombiebox said to pound it back in shape with a hammer, it would be okay?! Packaging is lackluster at best. They are probably all bent and dented.

Nowhere near the sound reduction as advertised
I have a DuroMax XP13000HXT portable generator. I bought the Zombie Hut based on recommendations from the Facebook group. I'm very disappointed in the results. The package was dropped during shipping and bent one of the edges and forced a latching tab through the side of the box. The construction is folded sheet metal with some form of insulation attached on the inside. The holes for the sheet metal screws for the two latches are severely undersized and had to be drilled out to a larger hole. The hut is coated with what looks like spray on truck bed liner.I managed to get it assembled and took some measurements for the noise. Without the hut, I was reading 80db. I then placed the hut on its side (like a shield/, I measured 76db. This is nowhere near the expected reduction.Overall I'm rather disappointed in the product and would look for other options.

Bought Only After Extensive Research, and Was Happy. Later Also Bought 3 of Their Generator Sheds!
Perhaps because I am an electrical engineer and a scientist (with a graduate degree in the sciences), I bought this simple and relatively-inexpensive sound-abating generator shelter only after having done extensive research (that is, I did my prior due diligence...!) and thus I was not disappointed with this simple shelter, unlike some of the other reviewers who apparently had not done their research first, and thus may have had unrealistic expectations of the shelter's sound abatement abilities.Incidentally, within 3 months of having purchased this simple generator shelter and having been very satisfied with it, I did further research and then visited the Zombiebox website and ordered three (yes, three!) of their medium-sized soundproof generator sheds for use with the propane generators that I use for backup charging of the battery banks in my massive off-grid battery backup emergency AC power system in my forested wilderness backyard (You see, I live on a forested steeply-sloped mountainside in the rural mountain wilderness, and we experience very frequent and often-lengthy commercial AC utility power failures here!).Very good product, and very useful for managing generator noise -- and also protecting your generator from weather -- if you know how to use it properly!

Works great
The media could not be loaded. Does it’s job for sure, mutes the sound in the front of our food truck by 60-70% depending on what’s behind us. It also works amazing flipped up over top of the generator to protect it while running during the rain. Very happy over all. Latches are a little cheap but that’s the least of its worry’s tbh.

Very nice!
The package arrived damaged so I was a bit 😞 at first. That was not the fault of the manufacturer. Once it was set up I LOVE it! There is nothing on the market comparable to protect a running generator. People have used small plastic sheds, but have to add cooling fans and exhaust pipes, etc. The tent style generator covers are a pain in the butt and not very durable. This cover is built solid like a tank. Once set up it should last for years. For a home generator this is the one you want. I would still lock up your generator since this is a weatherproof cover only. I am using it with 2 x Honda EU2200Is and there is room to spare. It is bigger than I thought (which is a good thing).

Company with a customer service attitude.
I called the customer service number and a recording said that "she" was busy with another customer or not available. There was no voicemail option. I then sent a text to the same number explaining that there were no predrilled holes as shown in the diagram in the assembly instructions. The response was that they were likely covered up by the exterior coating and there should be pinholes to note where they were. Nothing was there after a very careful examination of both end panels. The next text message told me that they were self tapping screws. If I did not like that then I should return the item via Amazon.com. The screws are NOT self tapping. There also were not enough screws to do the installation. I had to predrill the holes and purchase more screws to finish the assembly. Fortunately I wanted this item and so I did what was needed to put it together.
