3M1080 Carbon Fibre Black Air-Release Vinyl Wrap Roll (1/2ft x 5ft)

I have an older model Toughbook laptop that I absolutely love. The mousepad eventually wore a small hole and left me with a frustrating dilemna - get to replace it or try to cover it. Replacement mousepads run about $100 new and require significant computer disassembly. I tried to cover it with clear packing tape, which sorta' worked but was difficult to track on (jumpy mouse movements). I ordered the 3M carbon fiber with modest hopes.I pulled off the packing tape and cleaned the mousepad. I then applied an over-sized piece of 3M carbon fiber and carefully pressed/trimmed it into place. The 3M carbon fiber is a little stretchy, and I got sloppy and tore the corner of the carbon fiber patch. I pulled the piece of and discarded it, no sticky residue left so that was good. I tried again, almost perfect... Pulled off piece for a third-time-charm attempt and got the carbon fiber perfectly into place. There were a couple small air bubbles that refused to go away, but Ianced then gently with a needle and the result was perfect. I then warmed the patch with a hair dryer to lock the glue into place. After several days of use, the 3M carbon fiber still looks and works perfectly. An excellent solution with a handsome look (it actually looks "tougher" than the original mousepad).Highly recommend.

The tape looks great and is likely easy to work with. The issue I had that prevented me from giving it 5 stars was because of the shipping packaging.The tape was rolled and came in a clear plastic bag inside a white plastic shipping bag. The package must have ended up under heavier packages at some point and left deep hard creases. I went ahead and used it but it took a lot of heat and rubbing to lay the tape smooth.If it had been in a small box or had been rolled on a sufficiently heavy-duty tube this would never have been an issue.

Put the wrap on my mustang cobra R hood. Easy to work with. Looks great!

I bought this for the interior of my car- very impress with this product my car looks like a brand new car after putting the vinyl wrap.It is so easy to apply because it stretch.I really recommend this product. The shipping is faster than I expected.

Good in areas that take a lot of abuse cut a piece and put it on the back of my cell phone works better than my cellphone

I had bought this for a temporary use and I strongly belive it did the job as expected.

Actually very easy to install, and very easy to stretch out. The adhesive was excellent but not too difficult to work with. Looks sharp and so far has been terrible. I’ve gone through several carwashes using this product on an auto application on the bumper and it’s been holding up great.
