Nyoko Intercooler short review
Contrary to some of the other reviews for this product I saw prior to purchase, I have to say that the fans are NOT really loud at all. While you might hear them if you're in the dashboard or doing something OTHER than playing a game on the system, the second you launch a game even at low volume that'll completely cover the sound.Yes, it's louder than the stock fan in the unit, but that's also because it moves more air and keeps the unit cooler, which is the only reason why you'd buy this in the first place.I'd reccomend this to anyone running a 360; Heat kills computer (and console) parts and this is an inexpensive, effective way to avoid overheating of the console itself (There are some power block overheat issues which I do not personally have, but I haven't seen a block cooler yet - And most of these go away if you put the block on wood or glass surfaces rather than carpeting anyway).Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the unit; It increases the airflow by a LARGE margin (turned the XBox360 on for 15 minutes of gaming, turned it off, installed the Intercooler, and powered it back on - The air exhausted was quite hot, as before, but after a few minutes the exhausted air using the intercooler was much cooler) and keeps the internals cooler. Also, it easily clears the ports and mount on the back required to attatch the USB WiFi adapter (and a hub for your charge-and-play cords if you have more than 2 controllers) and is a simple (non-warranty-voiding) cooler to install.

Great Product
I did a lot of research on this before picking one up, both online and with my gaming friends. Just about everyone said it kept your system cool, a few complained about fan noise and a few of my personal friends said after a while their system would lock up eventually with the intercooler installed. I figured it was worth a shot.I'm happy I went for it. It makes a huge difference in heat. I can play GRAW for hours and the case is just barely warm in the center. Before I had the intercooler the whole case would be overly-warm to the point that I worried about it. The intercooler totally resolved that issue. It IS a bit on the noisy side but I'll take a little noise to extend the life of my 360. I havn't had any lockup issues or anything else negative. I have heard it's a snug fit with the wireless adapter but I use a wired connection so I don't have to deal with that.I think the best part is it's just a matter of snapping it on and off the xbox and it doesn't void the warranty so it's the perfect cooling solution.

Causes malfunctions!
This thing is not only loud. It actually caused my 360 to malfunction. I have had my 360 for about 8 months now and I have never had a problem. All of the sudden one day my 360 shuts off and I get a ring of 3 red flashing lights. I almost had a heart attack. So I turn it back on and it works fine and about 10 or so minutes later it happens again. I turn it on the next day and 10 minutes into playing it happens again. So I take the Intercooler off because it is really loud anyways and the problem never happens again. I play for hours. Leave it on jsut to test it and not another problem. I will not be putting my intercooler back on. I think it is unnessecary for my 360 and if the noise is so loud, I think it must be overheating the 360 rather than cooling it down. Not to mention it is powered by the 360 so it makes it use more power than needed. I paid too much for my wonderful 360 to risk it breaking down because of this product. Save you hard earned money and by some accessories or games.

Defective Product
I strongly recommend trying other alternatives before buying this product. First of all, the product uses the 360's power supply, and giving extra work to a console that already overheats is not a smart choice. Second, it sucks hot air through the back of the console, if you put your hand you can actually fell the air getting out very fast. The downside? Well, imagine this hot air coming through the back of your 360 and slowly melting the two devices together, because that is what eventually will happen. In order for this product to "work" you need to put a fan on the side opposite to the hard drive so the air can circulate through the system. Third, the noise it makes reminds me of a vacuum cleaner, its pretty annoying when the game or movie sound is on lower levels and the only thing you can hear is the intercooler.Other than that, it does cool the system (until it melts the back) and because of that causes the games to run more smoothly. Like I said at the beginning, I strongly recommend trying other alternatives before buying this.Personally, I use a cooling method slightly unconventional. The system has little holes in the back, in the sides and in the bottom for air circulation. Due to the product's overheating issues you don't want to waste any of those spots. But what to do? If you put the system vertically you waste the biggest air circulation spot, and give extra risk to your discs; if you put the system horizontally the system loses the holes in the bottom. What I did is to put one of those lengthy novels bellow the 360, so now it's kind of suspended in mid air but still horizontal. Second, I bought a small fan and dust filtering pad, which you can get at any hardware store. So the fan with the dust filtering pad goes on the side opposite to the hard drive in a 45 degree angle pointing from the front to the back of the system. Believe me, it's better than the intercooler or any other cooler you might find in the market, and it uses an external power source which is a BIG +.
