X-Large. I was hoping it was a 16 (grandson's size) . It fit him good.

Q: What size would i get for a boy 10/12? A Medium or large for extra room? Do they run small?

I ordered xl for my 12 year old grandson . Fits well and long enough. He loves it!

Your son wears men's sizes. Depending on weight, possibly medium in shirts and pants. Boys clothes will most likely be too short for him. My son is 14, 140lbs, 5ft 9in and wears shirts in men's small for an almost (al little big) fitted look and men's medium for something to grow into. Boys t-shirts or polos size 18 or XXL are very fitted or slim look on him. He's a 31x32 in men's chinos (for extra space and length, but not baggy), stretch chinos 30x32. Hope this helps.
