As someone who has been boot bound for an extensive amount of time: most of which was spent in a Pre-K classroom, I had to obtain a new boot when the padding in mine became over-stretched and the velcro ceased to stick Let me tell you some of the features I love about this boot, contrasted to my prior one, and another boot I wore in the past.1. COMFORT: My first boot was worn for a double fracture In my left foot, and I still have a scar on my leg, where the top of the boot on the inside rubbed through the padding.2. APPEARANCE: My first boot was black, but bulkier, and not as sleek, and my prior boot was a horrid shade of offwhite that quite quickly took on a dingy hue that could not be scrubbed from sight. I might even dare-say that if one didn’t look close enough, they might not even notice I was wearing an ortho boot, next to my tall boot.3. UMMMM- This one is kinda tricky to convey and may mean nothing to my friends with lanky limbs, but as a lady with thicc thighs, and comparable calves, I was concerned about fit when ordering a medium. Wasted worry. MORE THAN THAT- My FAVORITE FEATURE of this boot, (because a summer of classroom crafts took it’s toll or I am just some sort of filthy individual?) Despite my stout stumps, NONE OF THE VELCRO on top of the foot, or at the front of the boot is exposed which means no chance of bits of.. bits getting stuck there- and spreading to the rest of the strap. I may or may not have some mild OCD, and be entirely eeked out by the reference picture above, thereby way more excited by this than I should be... But I am, and I figure I can’t be the only larger legged individual with an obsessive desire not to collect bits in their boot from everywhere they go and everything they do.Criticism: ALL ORTHOPEDIC BRACES SHOULD COME WITH A SPARE PADDED LINING; even if not an additional, fancy-shmancy air-pad, one to use on laundry day, and in the event that you, or a toddler spills something on it.. like paint, or milk- something that will foul it right up before you have the chance to get home, or get it clean. I’m just saying.

Buy the right boot!
Having recently fractured my ankle, I was in need of a support boot to replace the stint I was wearing, as per my Doctors instructions. After discussing the options of boots out there, I was led to purchase a "tall air cam walker boot", which goes up your leg, stopping just under your knee. My Podiatrist recommended I purchase online to save money, and the difference in price was tremendous! There are several things to consider however, going this route. Firstly, you will be installing the boot yourself, and will need to know the ends and outs of the right amount of pressure to pull your support straps, so as not to cut off circulation, and secondly, its really really important to order the right size boot.Take your time with this one. I usually wear a size 10 tennis shoe, and the 71/2-10 boot worked for me. Having a size 10 foot, I was right on the border of being able to move up to the 101/2-121/2, and was concerned, but the smaller boot works fine! So from that, they seem to be true to size. I wear a EEE wide as well, and the design allows for room. If you have a narrower foot it's no problem, just use the air pump and snug up your foot, it works great! The only downside of this boot so far that I have seen is, it comes with no sock, and though you can order a sock when purchasing the boot, which I did, the sock comes from a different supplier, and takes another 4-7 days to arrive, leaving you to go out and purchase a sock anyway, which would have saved you 12 bucks, had you known. Well, now you know. This of course has no bearing on weather patterns around the globe, nor does it change the flight patterns of Canadian Geese, but it would have been nice to know. You need the knee high sock.Only other thing of negative report is, the boot comes with zero instructions. Zero. So, take your time (it won't take much), figure it out, and get to know your boot, prior to putting it on. Especially understand that the red ball is used to "pump up" air for firmness, (you have to push it in a continual fashion), and the little valve to release the air pressure is just below the red bulb, with a handy snap on cover.Make sure you don't strap your velcro strap over or near the black valve cover, or it won't close properly. Thats it! This is a great boot, and I highly recommend it. It almost made a 5 star rating for me! Hope you mend quickly, everyone!

Good, affordable stabilizer
I wear a 7.5-8 women's shoe. This is just barely big enough for me. If you are consistently a size 7.5, a small is great. If you are more often a size 8 than a 7.5, you should get a medium. When I use the air pump, my big toe comes almost to the end of the boot. The air pump is very useful- the boot would not provide enough stabilization for me without it, so I'm glad I chose a boot with adaptable support. It does seem to lose air pressure over time, which is understandable. This boot is more comfortable than I anticipated, though no boot will be truly comfortable. It minimizes pain in my ankle and foot, and that's what I needed! It is pretty lightweight, but definitely makes you uneven- consider a even up device for your other foot.
