Chantal 1.8 QT Kettle, Oolong Series, Premium Enamel on Carbon Steel, Whistling, Even Heating & Quick Boil (Canary Yellow)

I’m glad I read the reviews before purchasing because the “Sage Green” color is way different in person. The picture online is more of a Mint Green, but in person it’s definitely a true Sage Green. I actually prefer it’s true color.The whistle is very quiet, which I don’t mind since I live in an apartment and I try to keep a close eye on it when the burners on. If you plan on relying on a loud whistle to know when it’s ready, you may want to look elsewhere.The size is perfect as well. It’s large enough to make 2-3+ cups of tea. The top handle doesn’t seem to get hot, which is nice. The whistle cover is easy to flip open and isn’t too hot to handle with bare hands (at least not in my case). Overall I’m happy with my purchase and think the products quality matches the price.**Update**I have now purchased this kettle twice- as I mentioned above, the whistle is very quiet. Over time I’ve come to realize that the whistle doesn’t always sound off. Unfortunately one day I stepped away from the kettle and completely forgot it was on. It didn’t whistle and once I realized how long it’d been, it was too late. The kettle was burnt and the top handle was completely melted. This, of course, is my fault for leaving it unattended. Needless to say I loved it enough to repurchase, but please be careful to not rely on the whistle!

I LOVE my new Chantal tea kettle! I originally bought a Le Creuset that was very nice to look at, but not easy to use. It was sooo heavy...4 lbs. empty and really heavy when filled with water. The handle was too tall and made it awkward to pour. So glad I sent it back and got this one. As soon as I took the Chantal kettle out of the box and picked it up by the handle, I knew it was ergonomically perfect for me. Water heats super fast and the kettle is easy to handle and pour water out of. Plus, it is super cute! It is high quality without being ridiculously heavy and unwieldy. Plus, the Chantal kettle is half the price of the Le Creuset! My only complaint is the packaging. I was surprised at how haphazardly the tea kettle was packaged. Fortunately, it came to me unscathed.

Normally I think they charge too much for these Chantal teapots on Amazon so I waited for a good sale to purchase one. I already knew I wanted the light green sage colored one to match other items in my kitchen. And when I received it, I was so pleased! I specifically wanted that pale green color and that’s exactly what I got. It looks greener on Amazons photos and after reading the reviews about people not thinking it was green enough, I knew that is what I wanted. I didn’t want it to be as green as their photos are. So I’m glad it wasn’t. And if you’re looking for that greener color, this wont be it. This is a very light pale green. Not minty green. I also like how comfortable it is to hold the handle. Feels very sturdy and comfortable t while holding it. Im also not a fan of the tea kettles that have that switch on the handle to open the spout. I prefer this style. So I love everything about this teapot!

whistle could be louder, smaller than I thought, otherwise, good quality, well made, enamel, comes with instructions for care, for instance, don't leave any water in it overnight! Nice finish, handle doesn't move, has center cap to fill and clean. One of the few not made in China(made in Thailand) thought the reviews were good, not cheap $42.00 and hope it lasts, as long as I don't forget to turn it off, melt it, leave water in it!

Gave this to my mother in law for Christmas. Did my research and it had best reviews. Lived up to expectation. I wouldn’t say she’s a heavy tea drinker but every time I’ve been over and used it it’s very sturdy, nice, clean and had a no abrasive, pleasant whistle. Not overwhelming but also, not ideal for someone whose hard of hearing. Perfect for people sensitive to noise levels. Lid opens smoothly and is very comfortable to pour. Definitely a 5/5 after about 4 months of use.

This product has a fatal design flaw with the whistle mechanism. Since I first began using this kettle the whistle valve mechanism does not close correctly every time. Sometimes I can get it to close tightly but usually not, even after trying a dozen times. This means it you cannot rely on it to whistle.Unfortunately this makes it a complete waste of money, as the whistle functioning properly every time is a critical requirement... Making this kettle an actual safety hazard.I do not recommend this product. There's no way to fix it, which is a bummer.

It took me a lot longer than anticipated to find a replacement for my previous tea kettle. This is it! It's nice and sturdy, and looks great. It doesn't have flimsy parts on the handle that can break or melt. The plastic on the handle gets warm but not enough to need a hot mitt. I bought and returned another kettle with plastic push button to open the spout cover because the button mechanism broke on the second day! There's little that can go wrong with this kettle - it looks and feels high quality. After a couple days there was some discoloration on the bottom where it rests on the burner, but I wiped it off with a wet sponge and it disappeared.

Perfect size for me. Luv the color. (Aqua). Needed a new tea kettle. The whistle works great. Really happy with this purchase.
