Q: What type of hydraulic fluid does this use?

Enerpac recommends LX101 hand pump oil for their hand pumps. I know many of my customers use standard hydraulic oil such as HF101 without major issues, although I think the seals wear out faster.

Q: Can this pump be mounted and used in a vertical position?

Yes as long as the hose is pointing south (down). Otherwise it won't keep oil pressure in the hose to feed the cylinder.
