So glad I went single speed
Well, on the advice of Pro cyclists I know... I went for a single speed bike. The experienced guys said 3 speed of single speed of you really want to train, and plus cut down on workshop time and parts bills. And they were right! You waste far less energy pumping dérailleurs (as for year suspension... Bong booing boing.. All wasted energy) and you just learn to keep up a good cadence rather than fall back on switching gears. I'll certainly look back.... And well... Turns out that over a good run... 5 to 10 miles... Single speed beats out 21 speed all the way with practice. Give it a try! Upgraded a suspension stem, a new front fork, less knobbly road tyres with run flats,, chain tensioner and a nice chain. left all else standard. Its light, strong, and a nice geometry. Im 6ft and ride the 17er.I recomend this bike highly!
