Q: How do i no if i got the correct actuator

I checked the GM website for my vehicle and other web sources to confirm that this was the correct actuator for a 2016 Impala.

Q: - i dropped 1 screw removing the old part - do you sell the screws that hold it

Use the 2 screws you have left and put them in the holes that are closest to the white drive piece

Q: On average, how long do these actuators last before they start to breakdown?

About 10 years, at least... The most accurate answer would be: it depends on how often you switch the air vents in your car. For example, once the car cools off I switch the vents from blowing on my face to blowing on the glass in defrost mode... So it would probably wear out quicker for me than someone else. In my actual situation, I replaced one of 3 actuators on a 09 Impala in the summer of 2019. The dealer wanted 900 to replace all 3, so I took a chance. The new part worked flawlessly until I traded in the car last week, and I still had the spare actuator in the trunk just Incase another one failed. I don't regret buying this inexpensive 2 pack. It's not an very costly part, just a small motor with plastic gears. The cost comes with the labor to replace it, because they're usually in a hard to get to spot and it's always really cold or really hot when it fails. Hope this helped.
