Left earbud doesn't connect after day charging, blue then red light, why?

Are you sure that it was seated correctly when charging? I've heard others say that they couldn't get it to 'sit' properly although it's not an issue I've ever had. Otherwise, try a factory reset.

What is the nrr and are they good for a light sleeper and smal ear holes please ? wife is a loud snorer :)

Buy some foam ear plugs. They’re cheaper and will do the job better. If you want to listen to music they’re great. However, I wouldn’t recommend sleeping in them, unless you lie on your back or front to sleep.

I don't have Airpods (of any generation) so I can't make a comparison, but I own and have owned many other earbuds and I can say that these sit somewhere above the middle in terms of sound quality and noise cancelling.  If I'd paid full price (over £300) I'd have been disappointed, but they're a steal at just over a third of the original price. I use them with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and also a HiBy R5 Gen 2, and I probably have them at 80% volume for comfortable listening. Out of the box they're a bit warm sounding, but that can be adjusted to your taste. I'm not a bass lover, so maybe not the best person to ask about that. I wouldn't complain, I think it's what is known as 'controlled'.

Noise cancelling is good, but not the absolute best. Noise cancelling is an overrated feature in my opinion, unless you regularly sit over the wheels at the back of a bus or you want to sleep on a transatlantic flight. These block out most sounds to the extent where they stop being annoying, and you almost certainly won't hear them when the music kicks in.

My honest opinion is that if money is no object the best earbuds I've ever heard are the WF-1000XM4, they're quite simply staggering in every way. However mine broke after two months with a faulty charging case, something that you can read about all over the internet, and Sony refused to do anything about it because I couldn't supply a VAT invoice (!) So for that reason I'm reluctant to recommend them, although to be fair most other people seem to have had no trouble getting replacements within the guarantee period.

The Beoplay are probably going to be much better than the Airpod 3s, judging by the reviews I've read, but as I say I don't own them so I can't make a direct comparison. I have to repeat what I said in my review though, which is that any criticism I've read of the Beoplays has not been my personal experience.
