Westclox O158642 47370 Quartz Analog Clock Black

Finally a nice analog clock with a bright glow in the dark face (not too bright). It keeps time like a champ and is easy to set and use. Snooze works nicely and very compact for us travelers. I've tried several other but this simple clock is much preferred.

PROS: Small footprint, low price, light-up dial, battery powered, easy to read faceCON: Louder than I expected from reading the reviewsI thought it would be virtually silent. It's quiet, but not silent. In my quiet bedroom, on my bedside table, it makes enough noise with the motion of the second hand to be annoying when I'm falling asleep. Look for a true "sweep" second hand for a truly silent clock. This one clicks - softly - every second.

I had to return this. The time the alarm is set for and the time it goes off are not even close. I found this to be a problem in general with the less expensive analog clocks. I finally spent a bit more for a Seiko clock and the alarm works correctly.

Good value - keeps good time, AA batteries last more than a year, pleasing low volume ticking, lume is weak but that's not a deal-breaker.

For travel, this is a great, portable clock, easy to set, whose alarm I'm sure works fine (I'm guilty of relying on technology to wake me up), with glow in the dark numbers and hands so it's easy to read even when it's dark.As for the ticking noise, I have yet to find any analog clock that I cannot hear at night, including wristwatches. If a little ticking doesn't bother you, or if it won't be right next to your ear, this clock is perfect for on-the-go time needs.

These Westclox' are the best small alarm clocks. The alarm begins softly and gradually gets louder and beeps faster but it isn't deafening. The light isn't blinding when I press the light button. I have one in every bedroom (4). They have lasted several years. Only two have broken because they were dropped too many times.

The clock is easy to set and easy to turn the alarm off. The alarm has a warning sound for light sleepers and then changes to a more frequent, louder, annoying sound for the hard sleepers. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the incorrect measurements in the description. The clock measures 4.25 x 4.25 x 2.25 inches, far smaller than indicated. I would have preferred a bigger clock but his one works exactly as I had hoped.

Audible ticking. Clock was on the other side of the bedroom (getting out of bed to turn alarm off eliminates temptation to fall back to sleep). The ticking was loud enough to keep me awake. I finally had to get out of bed and remove the battery to fall asleep. Alarm is wildly inaccurate. Goes off 30-45 minutes early. Useless.
