Fantastic edc
First and foremost dear reader, this knife is a slip-joint. This means that there is NO locking mechanism. If you are unfamiliar with how to use a slip-joint safely, this isn’t the knife for you. Now, for those who do know how to use a slip-joint safely, this knife is a must have. Not only does it have a great pocket clip, but it bolsters a razor sharp S35VN steel blade that cuts through cardboard like Anakin cut through those youngling in Revenge of the Sith. The action is super smooth, and easy to open and close. This knife is idea for light cutting tasks, however it does preform very well for heavier cutting tasks. Overall if you’re looking for a great edc knife, or are making this an impulse buy, you chose well.

Great knife but…
It was smaller than anticipated. I also assumed it locked and it doesn’t. That’s my bad for not reading the description more thoroughly.

Questionable blade
I wonder if the blade material is really S35VN steel. After a few minutes of cutting nothing harder than cardboard, the edge of the blade folded over. I have sharpened to my own standards this time, and it seems to be doing better. Anyway, I am not sure if the knife is better than the $20 knives I have bought at WalMart.

Safety
I had high hopes for this blade. But it fell terribly short in the aspect of it closes supper easily. I mean I nudge it every so slightly with my finger and it closes.

Good knife that doesnt get much use.
Well put together knife with great materials for the money. The flipper tab is tiny and isnt as easy to use as other flippers i've handled, but it works once you get a feel for it. I prefer to reverse flick this one using the middle finger. Its very nice, came sharp. Looks great. I dont use the thing much... I've found I prefer a locking knife, but if youre into double detent non locking knives, this is a very well made example.

I absolutely love this knife. I’ve been searching for a new EDC knife for months now and nothing has ticked all my boxes… to be fair, this missed out on one of my boxes but still close enough. (I wanted horn/antler scales).Okay so first off, beautiful micarta scales. I got the classic brown one and it looks nice and aged/vintage. The blade is a beautiful saber blade shape and super sharp out of the box. It has a nice stone washed/bead blasted finish to it.It looks like a proper gentleman’s knife that you could use everyday or for an outing. I LOVE thé minimalist design and the way they incorporated the logo into the pin. Also absolutely love the opening mechanism. Super low key nub right where your index finger would be with a great snap on open. Oh, and I’m really glad it has a high quality RECESSED pocket clip. Easy to access! Now the part that has people divided. The slip joint… I actually specifically got this knife (instead of the newer drifter 2 which has an inner lock) because it’s a slip joint closing. This knife shouldn’t be your first knife. You should have some experience owning pocket knives before using this as your EDC. For me? I live in California where automatic knives are basically illegal. This is the closest you’ll get to a fun fidget auto knife on open and close.Yes, you have to be careful when it’s open and you’re using it. But you shouldn’t be using this for heavy duty work anyway. In summation. It’s my new EDC, we’ll worth the price point and great quality from CIVIVI. no regrets.

Dangerous...
What kind of knife has no locking mechanism and just a detent? This is a glaringly bad design of a knife. Not to mention for the money just a small knife. I love Civivi knives in general but hard pass on this one. Going back ASAP. Avoid unless you like cutting your fingers.

Yes slip joint but a great back flipper
I knew when I ordered this was a slip joint knife, and frankly I think it's just ridiculous to criticize on that basis since there's a ton of slip joint knives in the world and plenty of people don't have an issue, it should be taken on the basis of what it is. I think this is a great light duty knife for every day carry and while it isn't for all scenarios it's excellent for what it is, has a great blade steel and is a pretty classy design to boot. I didn't expect it to be a bit fidgety too but it is easy to quickly open and close. (and easy to use safely if people simply pay attention remembering it's a slip joint)
