New brothread - 28 Options - 4 Large Cone 5000M All Purpose Polyester Sewing Thread 40S/2 (Tex27) for Sewing, Quilting, Patchwork, Overlock - Black

I like this thread and I’ve done lots of straight line quilting using it with some great results. The main problem I have is that when I use it for free motion quilting the thread breaks often…. Which is very annoying! The colours are great and the thread is great for normal sewing, colour changes are very quick….. just not for free motion quilting!I feel that I now some time later need to add to my review. I have had problems with this thread splitting and breaking whilst free motion quilting as I said above, since then I have been trying to get this thread to stop splitting. If you run the thread through your fingers it’s amazingly smooth and a visual check shows absolutely no slubs. I’ve never been one to give up so I have spent a fair bit of time resetting my machine but still the thread breaks. Last ditch hope change needle yet again, no difference whatsoever. The last thing I can think of is change needle size from an 80 to a 90 ……. Absolute success. This thread does not break or split if you use the right needle…. How stupid am I but my free motion quilting is beautiful and the higher lustre of the threads helps a lot! So thanks for your beautiful thread!

First time I have used cones for machine sewing. Really easy to use. The cotton is very white and feelssilky to the touch, this makes it very easy to thread needle. I will buy again when I run out of thread.

I bought these for my overlocker/serger so I could use them on any coloured fabric after a friend recommended. I haven’t had any snaps so far and they are a revelation rather than collecting large numbers of different colours for my sewing projects.

My Amaxon package arrived a day early, which was brilliant. The white is great quality and will be used as bobbin thread for embroidery as well as in my overlocker. The big box of 80 colours was a treat, and the little makeup bag stitched out with the threads beautifully. As always - the only threads I used for machine embroidery are the Brothread ones, and the larger cones are particularly good value. Excellent quality, no breakages or twisting.

Quick delivery. My initial observations are that the thread is fine and certainly not the strongest? Wouldn't buy again and not a purchase Id recommend. Snaps too readily with very little tension.
