A Spectacular Showing from Hasbro
Marvel Legends Deadpool is one of the most anticipated figures in one of the most anticipated waves in one of the best years of Marvel Legends. As you might be able to tell, this makes him one of the harder to find figures in a year filled with hard to find figures. If that doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster then let me remind you this figure was released hot off the heels of the mega hit Deadpool movie. Whereas the other anticipated figures, such as Spider-Gwen or movie Black Panther, have finally declined in price, Deadpool here still goes for about $40 from most sellers. I managed to snag mine for around retail but is he worth the $40 most vendors are asking? Let me answer that right away, no he isn't. However, he's still one of the best Legends of the year and maybe even of all time. The Sculpt:The figure for the most part is the basic BuckyCap mold we're used to seeing by now. If you collect Legends then you probably have at least one other figure on this body. Newly sculpted are his forearms, his boots, his two heads, his belt, and his sword sheathes. Maaaaybe his hip holster, but I can't be too sure. His masked head is depicted with the standard one bugged out eye and other squinty look Deadpool is known for. It looks good. But what I think is the best sculpted thing here is his unmasked head. It takes inspiration from many artists but I think it most resembles his look from Marvel Now! An interesting easter egg is that some of the scars on the unmasked head are states. You can see California and some others in there. Not to mention that winning grin on plastered on his face. This is honestly one of the best face sculpts Hasbro has ever done, it's gorgeously grotesque. The Paint:Paint here is typical Marvel Legends fare for the most part. It's not the cleanest, but for a $20 mass retail figure you can't expect perfection. The red over the black in particular can be a bit splotchy with some black seeping in. Still, it's hardly noticeable. One odd thing is that his belt, holsters, or sheathes don't have any paint wash. This makes them look a bit dull. Heck most of the accessories are hardly painted and those that are, like the sword handles and knife handle, are painted with paint that rubs off easily. It's a wonder they even painted them at all what with the paint being so terrible. That's my biggest complaint with the figure, the paint on the sword and knife handles is terrible. It's always rubbing off onto his hands when you slide them in and out. Really though I think most of the paint budget went into the unmasked head. Seriously, I can't get over how wonderful that head looks. There's a nice wash over it that really brings the sculpt out, it's great. The Articulation:Really, I don't think much needs to be said here. Again, it's the BuckyCap mold so that means the articulation is really nice. The Accessories:This guy has a whole load of accessories. There's the aforementioned alternate head, he has two pistols, a huge rail gun, tiny round barreled shotgun, a taco, two katanas, a knife, and a rocket launcher with a boxing glove in it. Really, that's a great amount of accessories. The only problem is that most of them are unpainted. I think the round barreled shotgun would have looked better in black plastic instead of the dull bluish silver they used for it but that's just me. Also weird is that the rocker launcher is really rubbery. If you have the Walgreens exclusive Punisher's rocket launcher you know exactly what I mean. Still, that's a great number of accessories and each of them look good with the figure.Overall:Hasbro has really outdone themselves this time. Not only have they surpassed their previous Deadpool, they surpassed Toybiz's too. This figure is one of the finest Marvel Legends I've ever bought. However, he's not worth the $40 he's going for. But don't worry, Deadpool's a popular character now. There's no doubt in my mind we'll be seeing him again in another Marvel Legends wave soon. It wouldn't even surprise me if he got his own wave down the line, which would be pretty rad. At most, I'd pay like $35 for this guy and that includes shipping. So if you can find him for that much, I'd say go for it.

One of the best figures EVER!
Deadpool. One crazy guy, that made a huge splash outside of the comic world with a movie that was a huge success. People in the know have loved Deadpool for years. For me, he was in and out of comics that I read. I knew who he was. I knew he had a loud mouth and great jokes that could rival Spider-Man. It wasn't until more recently that I started to get the collected volumes to really delve into the character. And boy does this not disappoint. Now we have the figure. Part of the X-Men series, since he wants to be an X-Men over almost anything else. What do we get with this figure? First and foremost, we get a fantastic figure. We get some nice new body parts. The forearms and the shins are both covered in armor. He has a great head sculpt that gives a wonderful expression. And he comes with a few costume accessories that really add to the outfit, including the belt, shoulder holster for his katana blades, and leg holster for his gun. So, with such a great figure, how can we top that? Add in more accessories than I have ever seen come with one figure, and more than some waves have had over all of the figures combined. Let's take a look at what we get.First off, a knife. I am sure if Deadpool is using a knife, he is out of options... like cutting off his own hand to get away. There is a sheath along the outside of his left leg to keep it nice and close by.Next up is a pair of guns. They look like they are Desert Eagles. A little small if they are, but fairly well done. They both have a holster, one on the hip, and one on the thigh. Yay for storage for your guns!!!!Next up, the pair of Katana blades. Can't be Deadpool with out going into a gun fight wielding a pair of swords. They look great. They were nice and straight out of the box, and fit nicely into the sheaths running down his back. Then we get a little crazy. A rocket launcher with punching fist. This is the same rocket launcher we got with The Punisher, but without the boxing glove. Thankfully, if you want a more serious tone, the boxing glove is removable. The rocket launcher pegs into the hole in his back.We get a couple of extra weapons. One is a repaint of the shotgun that came with The Punisher. This time around, it is a much better silver color. The other gun is a futuristic rifle. It makes me think of the Kree storyline where Deadpool was pretending to work with them while he was actually working on destroying them. These guns are extra, and do not have a place to be stored on Deadpool. I am thinking some straps need to be added, because Deadpool needs to go into battle with every weapon that is not tied down. Finally we get an alternate head. We need an unmasked head, because how else is he going to eat that taco he also comes with? The head looks horribly great. He is no doubt a burn victim of some sort. The smile is well done, and shows he cannot be kept down by that ugly face. This figure is great. No wonder it took me so long to get my hands on. Everyone and their brother wanted this figure. It was an additional figure to the wave, so it did not come with a BAF part. Instead they filled every part of the box with some kind of death instrument. What fun!!!

One of the best figures I've ever owned.
This figure is everything I was hoping it would be. The articulation is incredible when compared to other similarly priced figures and really allows you to pose Deadpool in any way imaginable. This is definitely a plus for any figure, but especially when it comes to Deadpool considering how expressive he is and how over-the-top he tends to be with everything.Attention to detail is another plus. The paint job on the figure is also one of the best I've seen and even though with his mask on he's subject to only one expression, at different angles it seemingly changes and allows him to fit any scenario. The accessories are definitely another great thing about this figure. The bazooka he comes with is the exact same one that comes with the Marvel Legends Punisher but painted differently and same deal with the shotgun. However, with the boxing glove attachment that comes with this particular figure, it's justified. The taco also fits perfectly in his hand which one of the major selling points and worries I had about purchasing this figure. The only complaint I have is that, out of the box, the extra maskless head that he comes with is hard to attach but the default masked head fits just fine. Only complaint I have and it's personally not enough for me to lower the rating any.My best advice to anybody looking to purchase this figure for whatever purpose- collecting, giving to a child, etc.- do it and you certainly won't regret it.
