It sounds like [un-]Surecom is confused; if this unit can only recieve and transmit in one direction (i.e. simplex), why do they call it "Duplex"?

Either i get this to work or its going back..how do i program each radio?

can this be used with one radio? Radio shack's used to work like this.

What is the battery life like and what voltage is required for charging? I'd like to use a solar panel for charging.
