C-MAP Reveal Coastal Charts for Marine GPS Navigation with Shaded Relief, Hi-Res Bathymetry, Vectors, Custom Depth Shading

I’m using these maps in a small 7” Simrad chart plotter. The chart plotter has built-in C-MAPs, but they don’t have nearly the details that this micro-SD card contains. Being able to see detailed contour lines and satellite views of the surrounding area is a huge upgrade over the built-in maps. I also found that the built-in maps only have channel marker data part way into a river as you’re coming in from the ocean… further upstream you simply don’t see any channel markers on the display. With this purchased map there’s much more depth detail, and the channel markers are displayed much further upstream. When I first got the new map chip I was concerned about compatibility with my chart plotter, because the documentation for the chart plotter claims you can only use up to 32GB cards, and this map comes on a 64GB card, but it turns out that it does work fine.I am a bit less thrilled by the quality and ease of use of the iOS companion app, and I’ve been struggling to get Navico’s (the parent company) tech support to acknowledge and address a bug that makes it difficult to import GPX files from other navigation apps, but this is somewhat tangential to the C-MAP chip itself. I mention it mostly because I would dread dealing with tech support if I ever had a problem with the C-MAP chip. All things considered, I would recommend this map upgrade to anyone who is boating in shallow areas or areas with complicated channels. The additional detail is a huge improvement over the built-in charts, and it could potentially save you from an expensive navigation mistake, so it’s an easy expense to justify.

I like the C-map chip way more than the Navionic chip for the same area. Much better/clearer detail and easy to read

I purchased this card for my NSX 9”. Installed the unit and turned it on and it doesn’t seem to be compatible. C-Map website indicates compatibility, but I have been unable to reach someone there. Will update with further findings. Been almost a week and I’ve still not heard anything back from Simrad or C-Map. For $250 bucks, the customer service sucks!!**Update**Contacted Navico and they confirmed chart # M-NA-Y206-MS (NSS compatibility) is NOT compatible with SIMRAD NSX units. C-Map is horsedoodoo for customer service. If you need Baja California/ SoCal region chart for NSX you will need Chart# M-NA-T-206-R-MS. If it weren’t for Satellite/Shaded relief function, I would not waste my time, nor money with C-Map. Almost two weeks of emails as calls, and I finally got an answer, FROM NAVICO!, not C-Map.

Outstanding bottom detail and resolution. Makes the "Discover" card that came with my Simrad plotter look like a kindergarten crayon drawing.

We purchased this before our last fishing trip and it is a game changer. I would say this is a must have for deep-sea fishing.

Have not been able to use this chart at its full potential. Assumed C-Map REVEAL would be compatible with Lowrance Hook REVEAL. Sadly this will only work with higher end models (ELITE/HDS). Still, provides a bit more detail than stock navionics charts.

Shaded relief doesn't work. Does come with micro card. On hold with service maybe review will change.
