Morton & Bassett Vanilla Extract - 4oz

Not all vanilla has a good taste, for me this is closest to the real thing.

Not everyone knows that the vanilla comes in two varieties - real and artificial. 95% of the vanilla you see on the shelves at your supermarket or on the internet is artificial and is flavored with a product called vanillin which comes from wood. Real vanilla comes from the seed pod of an orchid called the vanilla orchid. The average person does not taste the difference and for them the inexpensive artificially flavored kind of vanilla is just fine. But for those who really enjoy food and have the ability to really taste things, or for those who would like to develop the ability to appreciate the complexity of the taste of real vanilla, then you should buy real vanilla. This Morton and Bassett vanilla is the real kind and in my opinion better than what you find on the local supermarket shelf brands. There are other boutique small production brands that can be as good or slightly better than this one but the difference is small and the more moderate price for this one makes it my choice. It is also a good sized bottle for those of us who like to add just a bit extra when vanilla is called for in a recipe.

I highly recommend this Morton & Bassett organic vanilla to all who love to bake. It has great flavor . I wouldn’t bake without it !

This tasted like McCormick back in the 60’s. Nice mellow flavor.

Best vanilla extract

To the discerning palate this can't be beat--stronger taste--like you added 1.5tsp instead of 1tsp, but there is something beyond that, almost a creamy sweetness to it. I've been baking for more than 40 years, I've tried MANY brands of pure vanilla extract and this is my go-to brand! Worth the price!
