Quality product for a fair price...
Overall, happy with the quality especially compared to what others are selling. The thickness of the metal bracket plate and the post, spring, etc. are all pretty heavy duty, and could be welded if one wanted. I mounted on a 14' 2" galvanized farm gate which rides on compact dirt and gravel and it works wonderfully. The wheel spins freely, doesn't bind, and my gate no longer sags which will prolong the life of the gate hinges. I would agree with others the directions are cryptic at best and leave a LOT to be desired, but honestly, it's not to bad to figure out. Getting the main spring in and the post mounted was a big tricky even for me however a large bench vice and a fair bit of determination had me going in under 10 minutes. I bought 2.5" U bolts with backer plates and washers and definitely needed them as I ran out of thread and into the collar of the bolts before it was tight enough. Once I got one mounted and figured out the rest were a breeze. For whatever reason the bolts I ended up buying wouldn't fit into the mounting plate - it's somewhat of an odd space from center of hole to center of hole. Thankfully for me I have metal drilling bits and oil and ended up opening the holes up 1/4" for everything to fit right. Red LocTite on the threads means they will stay on a while - if you were %100 confident I'd tack weld it all in place. My only suggestion, bring the mounting bracket to the hardware store when shopping for the mounting bolts to save yourself time and headache...

Sturdy, but.........
It looks sturdy, but.....In one place on the description, is says it has a 150lb capacity. In another, is says 200lbs. Which is it?The picture shows mounting hardware. However, there is no such hardware included.I've never installed one of these before, and there weren't any hard copy instructions provided. There is a brief outline for installation on the product page, but I'm not giving my computer to a handyman so he can install the thing. Is it so hard to include paper instructions? Also, there are many types of gates. The hardware the product page says to buy separately is not helpful. For example, what it shows and details out won't work for a pipe gate.I now have to shop for hardware that should have come with it. And, not being familiar with these things, don't know what to buy - no instructions to take with me to my local hardware store, remember? I can't recommend a product I can't install. It was also missing warranty paperwork. Is there any warranty support from anyone for this product? I guess we are left to the legal test of whether the product is suited for its purpose. No warranty restrictions as to time!

8" Gate Wheel Is Exactly What I Needed
I put this on a 14' long, 4' tall chainlink fence that has a tendency to hang a little low and drag on the outside, and it also has a little hill to deal with that makes the fully open gate drag the hardest. So I opened it to the top of the hill, wedged the outside to the position I wanted it in, and then attached the wheel to the external upright on the fence with ubolts (the ubolts weren't a perfect fit, but with enough coaxing and tightening it works anyway). It's a perfect solution for me. Eventually I will sink some pavers into the ground under its path to make opening and closing easier still. Of note is that a close fit between the gate and the fence post might cause the wheel to drag on the fence post when it goes by with this installation, so install the wheel on the side you tend to open to most if it's a tight fit. Also note that the ad said it was a pneumatic tire but it's not. It's marked on the side of the wheel as "semi-pneumatic" but it's just a hard rubber tire that doesn't require inflating. It's a very good one, though, that far exceeds the quality of the solutions offered at the big box hardware stores.I only recently installed it. I will update this review if my opinion changes with wear, but if I don't update it my opinion hasn't changed.

Wheel broke after 5 months!!!
We have a 16 ft. gate across our driveway. The swing on the gate is fairly level, but the gate is used multiple times each day. We had a wheel on the gate that was across the driveway, but that gate eventually broke. We replaced the gate, and decided on using a new wheel. This style best fit our application. We received it in a timely manner, but there were NO instructions as to how to assemble this product. Being very mechanically inclined, it was extremely easy to figure out. We installed a large washer on either end of the spring to give it extra support, and to keep the carter pin from breaking as easy. It took 2 people to compress the spring and insert the washers. It definitely required some muscle. We purchased this product in July of 2017, and in December, the center of the wheel completely snapped off the axle. We have since bought a new wheel, and hope that this one will not also break. There are no grease fittings anywhere on the axle. The wheel pivots as you open and close the gate. Our old wheel was solidly mounted to the gate, and worked perfectly for over 10 years. This wheel tends to "stick" as it rotates. You have to open the gate in one smooth quick motion, or the wheel will stop turning around about half way through the turn process. When this happens, it is extremely hard to get the wheel to continue moving. We believe this may be why the center of the wheel eventually snapped off the axle.I would NOT recommend this product again. The wheel itself is very weakly made, and definitely NOT worth the money.

Ordered 2 and one was in pieces when it arrived
I ordered two and one was in pieces when it arrived. I thought I would just reassemble it, putting the bearings back into place and tightening it all back together. The wheel has never worked properly. I usually have to tighten it up every couple of months or it'll just fall apart. Sometimes I find some bearings in the driveway. The other wheel works as expected.I recommend being cautious when the item arrives and just send it back if you find bearings rolling around in the box.
