Ordered this part for a 2002 Chevy S10 Crew Cab and, after install, noticed the outer door handle was not fully returned to its closed position and would not open from the outside, upon further inspection the square plastic clip that holds the respective rod for the outer door handle makes it so the rod is ever so slightly not the correct length, had there been a normal rod holder in its place it would have worked perfect.TLDR: Does not work with 2002 chevy S10, Door latches shut, but, does not open from outside due to incorrect rod holder

Part fit my truck perfect, the plastic end on the part for the fourth rod does fit even though I was expecting a 4th grommet instead but it fits in the rod fine, rhe actual work is trying to change it and get the rods on but once u do that and tighten it it's been perfect on my truck it locks and unlocks fine

Part works very good but fitment is for a wide amount of vehicles and NOT specific for the s10 and Sonoma. The outside door handle rod does not go in place but if the old part still available the rod holder can be placed alongside a fitting washer and it’s good to go!!! The door closes buttersmooth. I don’t hate that it has plastic, as the oem part has plastic too. Overall great but need a little ingenuity to use with s10 truck so be warned!I will update if the part does not last long. But if it lasts long I will update my passenger side as well… it just closes so buttersmooth!!

Buyer beware, you can even see the error in the product in the stock photos. I don't know how no one has mentioned this yet?The latch arrived locked, it would NOT unlock. I didn't test or notice the lock and I was kicking myself for not testing the product some before install. In the picture you see the OEM in black on the left and the latch I got on the right. I had to use a hand saw to cut the piece out so the lock could slide into unlock. It would not open otherwise. Tested til smooth and after that it works perfect as noted by other reviewers.Don't lock yourself out of your vehicle like I did. I had to fiddle with it and there is enough give if you squeeze your hand in the door... and this is if you didn't accidentally put the door cover on first. I thought to test before I put the cover on I just had this thought. And glad I did... you can visibly see it slides through were the rod was by more than 3mm and that rod is the same plastic that interferes completely with the unlocking. Dumb AF

fit was perfect, but the replacement is..... 'interesting' to say the lease, its a knuckle buster but a local shop was going to charge me $300 bucks for just the part, besides saving a ton of money, it wasn't that hard to install, your just working in a small space and I think thats what most folks complain about being hard to install, 3 rods, 3 screws and out with the old and in with the new

While the latch mechanism is a one for one match to the original latch, The yellow rod clip is not compatible with the rod in my 2003 S10. It took several days to find a latch clip that would work with the rod and hole on the latch assembly Where the rod connects.. Once installed with the proper parts, the latch mechanism works properly.
