Thomas Saves Christmas is the latest addition to the long standing Thomas the Tank Engine franchise. My sons have tens of these books and were happy to see a new one. This is a nice Christmas themed story that is a simple read.As always the presentation in these books is top notch, characters are drawn exactly like the cartoon, and my kids liked that the usual illustrations in these books have been 'Christmassified'.The story itself is a simple affair, as usual there is trouble on Sodor as the trains have been distracted by what they thought was Father Christmas and so many jobs hadnt been done in time. In steps Thomas, helped by his trusty sidekick, Percy, to save the day.For this to have been 5* I would have liked some form of moral behind the story or something heartwarming. Despite that it was an easy read and a nice addition to our Thomas book collection.

If you have a little one that loves Thomas the Tank Engine and Christmas this book is for you. I saw it and as a child I loved Thomas and want my daughter to experience it as well, I also want to make her Christmas special and one to remember and books like this help to bring forth the Christmas excitement in kids.The front cover has a really nice shiny gold finish on the title, trees and train at the bottom, I love the idea of Thomas ploughing through the snow with Santa above and the snowman in the background.The illustrations are good throughout with big bold colours nicely drawn and printed. Snowey scenes run throughout with the engines and characters really standing out against the white backdrops. The engines featured in the story are Thomas, Percy, Terence and Harold the helicopter also appears.The story is fun, it's uplifting, innocent and fun. It works well with the images, the text is all contained on the left or right hand side of the image and Christmas presents and snowflakes are placed above and below some of the text on the pages, which adds a charm and brings out the festive feeling. I would say that for a child to read thid themselves they would have to be at a decent level as on some pages there is a lot of text but I will be reading this to my daughter and she seems to enjoy the story and loves to look at the images.I also really like all the characters from Thomas are on the inside of the front and back covers, it adds a charm and that the original author is mentioned after the story with a little bit of information of how Thomas came to be. On the inside cover is also space to write who the book belongs to.I really like this, it's a heart warming story with really nice illustrations and not too expensive at £6.99 as of November 2021. If you don't like Thomas or Christmas this won't change your mind but if you do then I think this is a great little story that's fun to read.

My little girl loves Christmas, and she started reading last year. I got this book for her and she really enjoys reading this book. Nice and easy words for her to read, beautiful illustrations, great Christmas story. Durable material, she reads it a lot of times during the day and the book still looks like new.
