Nancy Janes Stacking Planters Terracotta Planter, polyurethane, 12"

Pricey but nice pots

The Nancy Jane's three tiered planter is great. There is a lot of growing space in this planter, despite the 12-inch size. Each planting compartment is large enough for a good sized flower or strawberry, which is what I planted in mine. I would like to buy/add two stacks on top of the three that came with the kit, just to grow more strawberries, and I can do that at any time. The planter is very attractive, sturdy, easy to fill with dirt, stack and fun to plant. It has a neat watering system so that when the top tier is watered, extra water will trickle down to each of the lower tiers. There is a large drip tray which is great for indoor use. I keep mine outdoors, so I drilled a small hole in the drip tray for excess rain water to escape. The planter comes with a heavy duty chain for hanging but I prefer to keep mine on the ground. At least until the deer find it. I'm pleased with my purchase and think you will be too.

I can't say enough about this item. I combined it with these herbs also offered on Amazon: "Custom Collection of 12 Varieties of High Quality Herb Seeds" by zziggysgal.I've never grown herbs before, but I followed the easy directions given by both of these products and quickly ended up with my own herbs that look great while they're growing and offer fresh herbs to cut twice a week.This is sooo fun and is not an expensive venture. If you're like me and only have a small sunny balcony, you'll enjoy this so much. This item takes up less space and gives you a vertical benefit. We're a family of 2 and so far we have just the right amount of herbs...but later in the season if we end up with too much, I'll make many pesto flavors and freeze them in ice cube trays for flavor on hand at the ready for any recipe.This product has been the perfect vehicle for herb growing on a small scale. Very fun!
