Buy shock dr gel max instead
This is one step above the crappy mouthpiece they used to sell for $1 20 years ago. As mentioned the plastic can get rough during fitting. That's the least of my problems. It won't stay in unless I'm bit down on it. Can't breath when I do that. For boxing, its basically useless. The gel doesn't have enough area to let it form to your teeth, and the other plastic is too hard and also poorly shaped to your mouth. Very in natural. I thought it would be a good backup to leave in the car but I hesitate to even rely on it for that.

AWFUL!!!! DO NOT BUY!! ...
AWFUL!!!! DO NOT BUY!!! The boiling process made the surface of the material (that contacts the inside of my lip) very abrasive. I used it for an hour this morning and now my mouth is real sore. I called Everlast and they "once the mouthpiece is boiled it's no longer under warranty. Their do nothing attitude will prevent me from buying any Everlast product again.
