I haven't used it on one, but I don't see why not.

doesn't recommend using on aluminum ladders.

Q: Does it actually go around the pole?

No, it just creates a pocket, if you will, for the pole to rest in.

Q: What is the reason that Werner does not recommend the adjustable pole strap for aluminun ladders?

Aluminum twists to much, be safe get a fiberglass ladder, I have contractor friends that have fallen off ladders and can no longer be contractors.
