We really enjoyed this game. I love games with a little strategy and not just luck. The directions can look a bit overwhelming, but it’s not difficult once you read them and start playing. Fun game night for our little family- 2 adults & a 9 yr old. Only downside was we couldn’t play with just 2.

You are an explorer and each turn, you delve deeper into the jungle to discover different species (of fish, butterflies, etc).It's fairly simple to teach(Expand across the board from your starting hut by paying money, in order to get different species) and a good game of skill without as much luck as many other games.Every time we play it, I think, "I like this...why don't we play it more?" But I can't remember a time where after finishing, we said, "Let's play again!"If you already own games like Dominion, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Puerto Rico, Settlers, etc, then maybe consider this one a something to add to your shelf. (If you don't own any of these games, why are you even checking out Amazonas?)But it's never our go-to game...we only play it on a game night or on vacation, after we've played other ones first.

This game is easy to learn, fun to play and didn't have add much chance as Catan. Overall worth picking up. My only complaint is that it had a max of 4 players.
