Metra 959310B BMW 3-Series Stereo Installation Kit with 5-Switch Panel (Models 1999-2006)

Only used the climate control relocation part of the kit, but worked out great. Quality product and a great price. I have Metra radio products in my C4 Vetted, my JK Jeep, 4runner, and now E46.

perfect fit

Fit wasn't perfect, neither was color. Needed to do quite a bit of custom modification to it to make the heated seat and convertible top controls fit properly....also the double din unit didn't fit right either...needed to shave quite a bit of the inside opening(although i'm assuming that's the way they come to accommodate the units for custom fit?) I'm not sure if i got a bad one or if they all fit like s***, and as far as i know these are the only option for the car so that's why i gave it a 3, otherwise 2 would be fine at best.

This is a great and brand new double-din kit for installing a double-din receiver into an E46, WITHOUT CUTTING UP YOUR DUCT WORK. This sucker works, and is all kinds of value: It includes everything you need, even the hvac relocation kit which otherwise costs >>$50 by itself. The kit is interesting and fits fairly well...PROS:Fits "very good" not perfectWell made, nice rubberized matte finish.Includes an hvac relocation bracketNo need to grind up your air box, buy the expensive Janus kit, or buy the expensive BMW relocation bracket, and includes everything you need, even screws.There is a lot of space in the new "panel" which is now in place of the ashtray (and ashtray lid). This is a great place to line up inputs. I used a kit to add the extension for the USB and mini-audio-in from the back of my head unit. The size is perfect for any kind of buttons or inputs you might want to add and the plastic is easy to drill cleanly.CONS:The HVAC relocation bracket is a bit unusual, and eliminates the ashtray (and door for the ashtray) entirely.The Button strip (where the DSC button goes) doesn't snap in tightly. I had to glue it in. Note: there are two versions of this kit, one with the single-strip type buttons, and one for the individual button type (which is this one). Whether or not it is smoker's package doesn't matter since this one eliminates the ashtray altogether (and the LED stays unconnected if you have smoker's pkg).The double-din unit sticks out quite a bit. The effect isn't awful, but definitely doesn't look as good as a flush-mount where the person has cut the huge hole into the airbox.Like all fascia's you may need to grind the opening a little bit larger to make it fit. In my case, a 7" Pioneer, I had to make the opening about 1/16th" wider to make everything fit correctly.OVERALL - HUGE advancement in the way E46's can handle double-din radios. Highly recommended.

Does a nice job moving the ac controls and giving room for a double din. If you go this route make sure to get a name brand radio not the knock off ones that cut in and out.

Did not need radio mount to do the install and the lower mount did not fit the 325ci or 330ci controls.
