No, that is not what these were made to do. I suggest just buying a new shower curtain liner.

Q: Would the white ones cover information if used on loose leaf textbooks?

Yes. The white ones are opaque and you can't see through them. They're pretty small though, so unless your margins are tiny you should be fine

Q: are this acid-free archival quality?

I don't know. They are a sort of vinyl--not like the old ones. I tossed them since they wouldn't work with my project.

Q: Are they durable? The last ones I bought were flimsy.

Yes they last. Prior I couldn’t find the ones I had bought for years. So I bought Stapes brand. Terrible. They stuck for about 17 seconds.
