Absolutely wonderful.

Good quality and the book is just wonderful. The illustrations are lovely.

I read this right after the folk of the air series, while I was still hungover from the queen of nothing's plot, so this was definitely a bit underwhelming then. Would've loved to see a bit more of cardan perspective and a little less of illustrations would've still worked.Overall, it's worth a read to get a perspective into why Cardan was, what Cardan was and it gives depth to his character as well as his story with Jude.Recommended 8.5/10

I am so in love with Holly Black's writings. This book is like a fairytale with short stories from Cardan's childhood. It really got me to understand his character on a deeper level. It also contains a few really cute Jude and Cardan moments so I'd suggest you to buy it if you're a HUNTER for all Jude and Cardan crumbs like me. This illustrations were ENCHANTING and so aesthetic.

I loved it!! So happy to be back in Elfhame with Jude and Cardan!!! This was a rather quick read for anyone who wished to see more of these characters!

Was waiting for it with baited breath but was disappointed as it's too short and not satisfactory.story is well woven with illustrations but feels bland compared to other books.could have given so much more but you feel cheated going in with so much expectation in terms of pricing as well as material.I seriously thought it was a extended version with detailed Cardan's pov.but falls short.feeling let down finished in 1hr 30min.Iam like what,kept checking how many pages were left.not worth the price.you could give a miss.better to reread the series than spend on this one.

I loved this so much! Highly recommended for a fan of the series! Cardan as a character is very interestingly portrayed here. His background is peeled off more and we understand him better.

There wasn't much to this book but it wasnice to read about carden and why he turned out the way he did.
