Transform your collection! 🚀
The Transformers Generations Fall of Cybertron Series 1 Soundwave Figure is a highly detailed collectible that transforms from a communications truck to a data disc mode. It features auto-conversion technology, includes two figures, and is compatible with other data disc figures, making it a versatile addition to any Transformers collection.

Lazerbeak, Eject; Operation Amazing Figure
Soundwave was the first figure I got after decided to start back up collecting. I had played the War for and Fall of Cybertron games, and fell in love with the character design. It's new and fresh, but a clear homage to the G1 design. I took a while to decide between this Voyager class figure from Fall of Cybertron and the slightly smaller Deluxe class Cybertronian Soundwave figure from the earlier Generations Wave. The big difference between them, other than price, is size and this Voyager's ability to interact with the Data-Disc Transformers, One of which (Lazerbeak) he is packaged with. I eventually settled on this figure, since the thought of Soundwave without his minions on hand just screams WRONG to me, and bigger is usually better for details and transformation.Out of the box, I knew I had made the right choice. His height is perfect, and he has a heft and solidity to him that many of the Generations: Fall of Cybertron figures unfortunately lack. Most of his joints are tight ratchets, and those that aren't are firm and well-secured balls. His balance and pose-ability are both above the level at which I would expect, and in fact I have been able to get him into some pretty awesome battle poses, both kneeling and otherwise, with little effort.Soundwave fits together securely in Vehicle mode and can contain up to three Data-Disc minions in both Robot and Alt modes, and can be transformed between both while they are still in his body. I have, however, had some Issues with the Disc-Launching gimmick. Depending on the order in which you put them in the chest, the door will not always close securely, as the latch is only on one side. I have found that Laserbeak or Ratbat, followed by Rumble or Frenzy, followed by Ravage is the best order.A larger issue, one that I have yet to find a solution for, is the the plunger-pole on his back with which you eject the discs from his chest is mounted to the top part of the plunger disc, instead of the center. Due to this, the bottom part of the disc actually trails behind the top by a milometer or two, and will sometimes not properly eject the third disc, instead mashing it at an angle into the bottom lip of the chest. I am also concerned that hasty attempts to do so, or perhaps the touch of a child, would actually snap the plunger-disc off of the plunger-pole and leave the gimmick unworkable. That is, however, total conjecture as I have not had this problem myself, nor have I read about anyone who has. It's just something I've noted in case you are a parent with a particularly rough child, you might want to look at the smaller, cheaper War for Cybertron Generations Deluxe version. Either way, using your figure to push on the top half of the plunger disc usually evens it out and allows it to release the minions, but it's a tad annoying they didn't just mount the thing in the center so it wouldn't be an issue. Those complaints voiced, I am still thrilled by this figure, and I do not regret getting it in the least. His paint job is great, both modes look wonderful (although the vehicle mode is more van-like than his in-game car mode,) and his pose-ability is greater than most Voyagers I've owned. If you like the FoC designs, I would absolutely suggest this figure.A Figure - Definitely Recommend'Till all are one.

Outstanding
This soundwave has all the features I was looking for. It can fit data disks in him, has a shoulder canon that can be hand held/vehicle held, has a fun transformation and an accurate representation of the F.O.C. video game. +comes with laser beak!I can make a very wordy review but I don't want to do that cause it will ramble on and on. Firstly I will get to the biggest yet fixable flaw of this figure. The flaw, lazerbeak can hardly fit inside of soundwave's chest! The first thing I noticed was that once he was in their he could slide around just fine. It turns out that the opening was made narrow by three small plastic bits so that when the data disks were dislodged from the chest they shot out and popped open. It was a miscalculation on the whole spring loaded gimmick. To fix this you need a small metal file or nail file or some sand papery tool off of a pocket knife. Than you locate the three nubs on the inside of soundwaves chest. The are very small and bhe same color as the rest of sound wave so look very carefully to find them. Than you simply take your weapon of choice and lightly sand the plastic until they no longer stick out and than you will be able to insert and (exert?) your data disks just fine. For a full review go to YouTube and look up optibotimus. He did a spotlight review of this toy but the review was still decent. there are more to look from. Anyways, great toy, buy it and you will be happy, feel free to read my rumble and ravage data disk review too if you want, you can fit three data disks inside soundwave in both transformation modes.Have fun with this guy and laser beakRecommended

Transformers Generations Voyager Soundwave and Laserbeak
After seven 10 hour work days it's time to rest and do some reviews. This is one figure I was reluctant to buy. Then I started seeing the Data Disc sets in my local Walmarts, Kmarts, and Targets. Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, and Ratbat? I had to look into it and find out why exactly all his minions were release. What makes this Soundwave so special? read on and find out...and find out why I feel so stupid for ever doubting this figure.Vehicle Mode: Soundwave transforms into a Cybertronian Armored Communications Truck. His vehicle mode is the same representation as in War for Cybertron. I'm a big fan of this mode. I started warming up to the idea of Soundwave as a car with DOTM. It looks great, paint looks great. He holds together really well. Rolls great too. One cool thing about this mode is you can release his minions in this mode too. The coolest thing to me, is his wheels. They have that glowing energon effect like in the games as they are molded in translucent purple plastic.Unofficial Boombox Mode: YES IT CAN BE DONE!!!! if you own the deluxe version...pretty much the same transformation. If you are not familiar with this you can look it up on youtube for a how to tutorial specifically on this mode.Transformation is SUPER similar to the deluxe version except for the new minion launching gimmick. It does add a few more steps but Soundwave is relatively easy to transform. I think it's safe to say any child over five should do just fine with this figure. Soundwave is still SUPERFUN to transform. Although he is a bigger version of the Deluxe size.Robot Mode. This is where the fun begins. This is why Im such an idiot for ever doubting this figure. This is why YOU NEED TO BUY THIS FIGURE NOW. Im not going to make you wait to find out why. But I am going to lure you in little by little. 1. Soundwave features a eject pressing finger. His left hand is molded slightly different with the index finger sticking out a little. Yup Eject button pusher. 2.THREE minions can be stored at one time. the downfall to this is that the launching mechanism does stick out more. But seriously...we've never been able to do that before. Not even with G1 Soundwave, Three Minions...at one time. Heck yeah. And now for the best part. The minions can launch out. BUT did you know they transform in midair? This is the most perfect and yet mind boggling feature I have ever seen. Laserbeak and Ratbat do this the best. Frenzy and Rumble just kinda transform in midair and fall of their faces.Ravage lands in a stitting position. But yeah this figure is awesome.I love the sculpt, I love the look. Hes very poseable. Stands very well.Over all...this is a GREAT figure. I guarentee youll never see another Soundwave like this. Buy it!
