Q: Anyone know the size & thread pitch for both grease hose ends?

I spoke with Lincoln Industrial regarding their G218 grease gun hose, vis-a-vis the 1162 air grease gun. The technical rep explained that their G218 has 1/8" NPT on both ends, for use in a manual grease gun, but that their 1162 air grease gun has "specialized" threads where the grease comes out, to make sure the grease hose used is one which can withstand the pressure of the air grease gun, which will be 40x the inlet air pressure. The Lincoln air hose part no. 1230, which comes with the Lincoln 1162, is rated at this higher pressure, so has the "specialized" threads at the grease gun end, and 1/8" NPT at the discharge end.

Q: can you fill it with a large barrel shop greaser or do you need the cartridges?

The plated steel barrel is equipped with a premium grease follower that accepts either grease cartridges or bulk grease, giving you the option of how you choose to fill your PowerLuber.

Q: When I pull the trigger air starts coming out a hole in the side of the unit, instead of pumping grease. Stuck piston?

Do you hear the piston making a "popping" sound or just a constant tone when you pull the trigger? Air does come out of the side of the unit during normal operation and it will making a consistent popping sound dependent on input PSI. I'd check for air pockets, just like with a normal grease gun I have to prime it before I get grease flow. Just bang this upside down against the rim of a plastic trash can dozen or so times and check periodically for the grease to start flowing. The tone of the piston will change once it's actually pushing grease too if it's popping really fast and nothing's coming out its just not primed enough. Hope this helps!
