Q: Which of the pictured books are a part of the bookends? One picture shows the 2 middle books were added to the photo but not attached to bookends.

The 2 standing middle books in this photo are not part of the bookends. Also, I was able to glue the quill pen and ink bottle reasonably well back into place. Unless one looks closely, the damage is repaired enuf for me to keep them rather than return them. Still some chips broken off the back edge of that same bookend, but nobody'll see that unless they pick it up and look.

Q: are these strong enough to hold binders and textbooks?

They will slide with a good bit of weight. I got rubber bumpers to put on the bottom of mine. Mine hold graphic novels, and taller books. They are also somewhat short and will only reach halfway up a binder or textbook. They are lovely and look great. I quite like mine.

Q: I really like these but wonder why the wizard referance? Instead of author or writer.

I'm not sure why the wizard reference is in the title. They do come as pictured (minus the two middle books) and they look really nice in person.
