Kenwood Car Audio Performance Series KFC-PS6996 700W 6" x 9" 5 Way Full Range Speakers

I bought these to replace a pair of gravity 6x9 speakers that rattled. I am running a blaupunkt 1504 4 channel amplifier for the highs (front & rear. I have a pair of infinity marine 6.5 speakers in the door's and I'm thinking of changing those out for a pair of 6.5 Kenwood concert series. These speakers are as near to true to life sound your ever going to find. They get pretty loud fast with the blaupunkt 1504 amplifier that doesn't come even close to the outputs rating in wattage. But with these speakers they work together quite well for my taste. I listen for quality of sound and true to life reproduction of the music as it was intended. That's hard to do on a budget, obviously Kenwood has built a excellent product and it sounds awesome. I am also a licensed amateur radio operator since 1976 and Kenwood radio gear is very good quality as I have several amateur radio rigs of the Kenwood brand. Once upon a time Pioneer was hard to beat as far as car stereo goes, but they don't hold that crown anymore.You can buy more expensive speakers, but they may not sound as good as these Kenwood speakers. These speakers are accurate in music quality and have the capacity for deep bass if that is what you want. I have a 10" shallow mount subwoofer for the low frequency. I'm not try to win a spl trophy 🏆 but quality sound and these speakers do that very well. 73 Earnest K5EWM

Used in rear doors on 2017 ram 1500. Fantastic fill for rears . Fit was great . Slightly harsh but can adjust out. Good full range speaker. Have ken 10 inch head unit and all Kenwood speakers in truck but subs jl Audi and sounds amazing. Would buy again.

I bought these for a newer SUV. I installed one of these and one same-size Kicker speaker. The Kicker speakers are noticeably better in clarity, sound range, and quality. I returned these after testing them against Kicker speakers. Maybe this review will save someone else the trouble. It's hard to pick an audio speaker for your vehicle without hearing it- that's why I ordered 2 brands I thought were comparable to test against eachother.

Love these Kenwoods! I'm a picky listener but frugal so I set out to find 6x9's under $100 that sounded really good and these KFC-PS6996 are the winner. Very clear, very crisp highs and solid midbass with 1600x4 PA amp. These will handle some power and stay clean at high output. What sold me on these is the voice tone, hands down beats other speakers for vocal quality. I also tried the Infinity REF-9633ix and Pioneer TS-A6960F A Series 6" X 9. Honestly the infinities sounded the worst, both me and my son agreed. They sounded more like a muffled loudspeaker at a football game than nice speakers. The cheap pioneers were actually noticeably better than the infinities and the Kenwoods outshined both by a mile. I haven't tried JBL yet, assuming they would be worth try as well but I'm sticking to Kenwoods. These replaced my 12 year old 3 way kenwoods which still rock, just wanted to freshen up the sound.
