Good grippers that last a long time
I got these grippers to help me turn the knob on my embroidery machine. When you're hooping an item, these came in handy to help turn the screw that tightens the hoop. There is a metal screw on the hoop. I took one of these and cut it in half. I placed it on the hoop screw. It was nice to have that extra grip and not tear the skin off of my fingers.

Took a bit of finesse to get them on, but they're perfect
They're an exact, snug fit for my plastic Bic 0.9 mm lead mechanical pencils once I get them on. They're actually indistinguishable from the originals, only they're not crunchy like the others were from age. Here's what I learned after I got them:These are narrow diameter for mechanical pencils, but if you get an item with a smooth taper (I used a pen I had in the house) and stretch it a bit first by sliding it up, it should go on perfectly. If you're having trouble pushing it up, loop a bit of dental floss through it and use it up pull laterally while pushing up. I also tried wiping a little bit of lip balm off my lips onto the pencil where the grip should go. All three of these methods worked.

Worked perfectly on new Tulip crochet hooks
I own a set of Boye ergonomic crochet hooks, which I love, but I kept hearing about the Tulip etimo hooks and really wanted to give them a try. I found the two main sizes I use available for a low add-on price so I decided to snatch them up. I have arthritis and have really gotten quite used to the rounded thick bottoms of the Boye ergonomic hook, to the point where no other brands have worked for me.I was hoping that the Tulips would be okay since they are described as ergonomic; however, halfway through a beanie hat my hands were screaming! I almost did a no-no and switched hooks halfway through but decided to tough it out. Though, I must say, by the end I HATED that Tulip hook!Once the haze of hate and discomfort wore off :) I realized that I really enjoyed the way the Tulip hook performed, it was just the handle that I detested, so I decided to try a pencil grip. I wanted one that was a little fatter, hence this ribbed grip, and I wanted one that was more spongey than hard. These grips were exactly what I needed! I had read reviews about them being small, hard to get on or ripping when putting on, etc. They ARE a little hard to get on, but someone suggested wetting the pencil (crochet hook) that you're trying to slide it on and this worked great! I wet the handle first, slid the grip on and twisted/pushed it up as high as I wanted. It was sort of smooshed down to a thin ring, so I added a bit more water to the handle and elongated it again. I even added a second one, as you can see from the picture. It really was incredibly easy. I was able to apply 2 grips to both hooks with no issues and no tearing. For reference, the hook pictured is a 6mm J hook, and I also applied them to a 5mm H hook. If you take your time and apply water, it really is no big deal. The grips weren't saturated, but they were a tad damp, and they easily dried out within a short amount of time. These grips have worked so well on my hooks that I have just today purchased a full set of the Tulip hooks and am purchasing another set of these grips. I think that if you take your time applying these to whatever utensil you need them for, and don't use brute force, (and the water trick to slick up the surface-fabulous tip, thanks!) then you will have no issues and they will work great as intended! Truly, give them a try. If you need them for crochet hooks, they absolutely fit the bill!

Okay for pencils NOT for pens
Super cute, but the indentations make them rip easily. I can get them onto actual pencils fine, but I wanted them for pens too. They catch on the plastic of the pens and are nearly impossible to get on (haven't gotten one on a pen without ripping it yet)

Fantastic -- try this kind first
I have arthritis and sensitive fingers generally. recently I started doing some different forms of hand written "journaling" and holding the pen was killing me. [I also wanted to do some coloring and knew I would need something like this.] First I tried a set of the fancy/bulky ones, perhaps better suited for kids -- anyway they got completely in the way of my writing. Then I went for these [which actually had been my instinctive first choice.]They work beautifully and I recommend them highly. A tip I picked up from a customer was to put a dab of lotion on the opening of one of these before I put them over my pen/pencil. It works magnificently, even on one of my main writing implements, a retractable gel pen which is slightly thicker than a pencil. They provide all the comfort I need and I really suggest trying these over the more cumbersome ones. note -- I had these years ago but had forgotten about them -- my note is stick with what's worked for years [for young and old.]

Too small
The hole is too small and they won't stretch to fit. These are a waist of money. Do not recommend.

Hard to put on? Nope, here is the solution
When I first got these pencil grips and tried to put one on my pencil I couldn't get it on. I decided to soak it in water and it went on just fine. Same with adjusting it or taking it off. They are comfortable in my hand and allow me to sketch all day without discomfort.
