Fitting a ceiling fan over a bath or cubicle is difficult enough. This product makes it even more so.Overall works well would not recommend.

Completely disappointed
Purchased to replace a Munrose QF100T which had lasted just over 4 years before the motor started stalling. Although a slightly cheaper option I thought Xpelair was a premium name brand but when my electrician saw what I has ordered his face fell saying he had had issues with this make. Anyhow problems started with the so-called knock out for the cable to run into the unit which, without breaking the whole casing, would not break free. He had to drill a hole and cut it out with a small hacksaw. Then he took the old Munrose unit down and he was quick to point out further issues. The Xpelair DOES NOT have the back draft vanes fitted in the Munrose meaning there was the likelihood of wind blowing back into the toilet. Secondly he pointed out that the flange which fits into the ducting was half the depth of that on the old unit which he said makes fitting more difficult and less secure. Also the terminals were tiny making working above your head difficult. All this proved to be the case, no ceiling is totally flat, and it took him a long time to fit the new unit up without it fouling. Then, disaster, I had requested that the timer be set for about 3 minutes run time, and as he attempted to do this the tiny screw head used to do this just fell out of the unit! He had no option but to take it down again but he was still unable to reassemble this vital part making it inoperable. By this point his time on the job had exceeded many times over the cost of the unit so we called it a day and I shall be ordering a new Munrose to have him fit later. The Xpelair went in the bin as not worth the bother to return for £20 odd and now this simple job is still not completed and has cost me dear in paying for the electricians aborted time which was not his fault. I can only advise not to buy this Xpelair product at any cost.
