I have had this item before and bought it again.items like this one should just be compulsory on every job site where regular hard hats are avoided or deemed "not necessary"It actually saved me from a big head injury, and protected me from other large bumps ! We use this for our son. He has epilepsy and sometimes falls forward so it is vital to protect his head. 1 day after we received it, he had a face-first seizure. He was wearing this hat ( a red one ). He hit the crown of the head on the wall and the hat protected him as we expected. He had an earlier wound that did re-open but was not made worse. He has been wearing it over a month now and has had several seizures have happened with no injuries to his head. My (bald) husband ALWAYS wears a baseball cap to keep the sun off his head. This means that his peripheral vision is blocked by the bill. HE HIT HIS HEAD CONSTANTLY!
